D. Concept:
Listening is an important skill any learner should acquire. When one
listens to lectures or announcements, he should be able to get the most
important idea/s and details and tell their importance.It is also the ability to
accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process. It
is the key to all effective communication. Without the ability to listen
effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. As a result, communication
breaks down and the sender of the message can easily become frustrated or
irritated.

5. RECALL OF THE PAST LESSON (The students will respond)


Let us have a recap on the lesson we had discussed
yesterday. What is our lesson yesterday? Yes Melvin.
6. MOTIVATION (The students will participate)
Before we start with the next lesson, let us have an
activity first.
The activity I entitled “Pinoy Ako!”
Find a partner, together, think of at least five (5)
Filipino culture that you know. Do it for 3 minutes
afterwards, you will be asked to present it.
Each student who will participate will be given
chocolate coins, remember to keep these coins as we
will be counting it at the end of the discussion and the
student who has the highest number of coins will
receive a prie.
(After 5 minutes the learners will be asked to recite
and the teacher will also present several Filipino
culture)

B. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON


Our topic for today is all about “Determining the Worth (The students will respond)
of Ideas Mentioned in the Text Listened To”

D. ACTIVITY
Before we proceed to our topic let us have first an
activity entitled “KAYA KO, MAKIKINIG AKO!”.
You will group yourselves according to your strengths (The students will participate)
and interest. We have four (4) groups, The Artsy,
composed of learners who like to draw, The Visuals,
learners who can easily understand a lesson through
observing and viewing, and The Musically Inclined, (The students will listen to the
learners who love music, singing and dancing. discussion and participate
You can now go to the group you want to be with whenever there are questions
according to your strengths and you will be given being asked by the teachers)
specific tasks.
1. You only have fifteen minutes to do the tasks .The
moment the bell rings you have to go back to your
own seats and wait until the teacher asks you to
present in front.
2. The group who will receive high scores will be given
additional 3 chocolate coins (each member).
(The criteria will be decided by the teacher and the
students)

TASKS
The Artsy- Listen to an instruction and draw what
should be drawn. Follow the instructions given in the
audio material given by the teacher.
The Visuals- Watch a video then later answer several
questions.
The Musically Inclined- Listen to an unfamiliar song (The students will participate)
then later perform it to the class.
You may now begin the activity but make sure that
you will avoid unnecessary noises. Noisy students
means they have to be deducted 1 chocolate coin.
E. ANALYSIS
How's the activity did you enjoy it?
Through the activity what do you think our lesson is all
about?
Very good! Our topic is about Listening .

F. ABSTRACTION

G. APPLICATION
Now, that we are done discussing the topic,let us have
an activity again.
Let’s listen to an announcement or statement made by
any public figure such as Mayor, Schools Division
Superintendent, Congressman, Chief of Police,
Barangay Chairman, etc. and write down the most
important idea he/she has mentioned and tell how
helpful it is to the people.

I. VALUES INTEGRATION
The teacher will be asking students about how they
would feel if they do not have their own culture. And
soon, she will ask the class, about the importance of
loving one’s culture.
J. GENERALIZATION
(The teacher and the students will summarize the
lesson and will have a short recap)
