My school’s charity cake sale
Hi! I’m Amanda! My school recently organised a charity cake sale. I love
cake, but that wasn’t why I couldn’t wait to take part. I was excited
because we were raising money for my favourite charity – the Paws
Animal Shelter. It’s a very special charity because it looks after animals
in need.
All the students in my class made something for the cake sale, so there
were a lot of delicious things. I wanted to make a chocolate cake, but I’m
really glad I didn’t! You see, there were more than ten chocolate cakes at
the event. I made strawberry cupcakes, and they were very popular.
Imagine! I raised over £40! The school was hoping to raise £1,000
altogether, but we did even better than that! In the end, the charity got
£1,200. They couldn’t believe it! It was a fantastic day!
1. Where did the money from the charity event go?
2. What does the charity do?
3. How many chocolate cakes were there at the cake sale?
4. What did Amanda bring to the event?
5. How much money did the school raise at the cake sale?
