Abstract

It is our pleasure and work that we are presenting the report of computer
fundamental and application. It is the syllabus of Bachelor in Computer
Application (BCA) first semester program affiliated by Tribhuvan University. The
main goal of this is to make students understandable about particular
knowledge and concept of MS-DOS, MS-word, MS- Excel, MS-PowerPoint and
Adobe Photoshop how to do works in lab or offices by using this computer
software's. The main point view of this report is to make understand students
how to do presentations, photo editing, keep record using software and save
time it is the main view point Of this practical lab.

I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to my teacher “Rakesh
Shrestha” as well as college management who gave me the golden opportunity
to do this lab reports on Computer Fundamental and application, which help me
in doing a lot of research and I came to know about so many things I am really

INTRODUCTION
MS-DOS stands for Microsoft disk operating system. It is a discontinued
operating system for personal computers mostly developed by Microsoft. It is
simply a system for operating the disks.

2. DOS COMMAND
In MS- DOS there are two types Of commands; internal and external. An internal
command is embedded into [Link] file. However and external
command is not embedded into the [Link] file and therefore requires a
separate file to be used.

There are some commands which used in MS-DOS:

1. Exist Command
2. CLS command
3. CD or CHDIR command
4. DIR command
5. MD or MKDIR command
6. RD or RMDIR command
7. COPY CON command
CLS Command
CLS command is used to clear the screen.
-DIR COMMAND
DIR command is used to check the directories.

-CD and MD command


CD and MD command is used to change the current working directory in
various operating systems.
3. WORD PROCESSOR
3.1.1 Introduction
Word processor is software used to manipulate a text document, such as
resume or a report. Working with word processor

3.1.2 Opening new document


Click on MS Office button in top —left corner
Click on new
Choose blank document and click on create.

3.1.3 Changing Font


Click on home tab
Click on arrow shown in font group in toolbar
Select required font
Click on ok
3.1.4 Resizing text
On the ribbon ,select home tab
In the font group , click on the down arrow to open a menu of
different sizes
Select required size

3.1.5 Add Watermark


For add text water mark
Click on the page layout
Click on watermark
Choose proper bullet in watermark

3.1.6 Creating Tables


Click the insert tab on the ribbon
Click the table button
Select insert table
Clicked the arrow to select the desired number of columns
Clicked the arrow to select the desired number of rows
Click ok
4. SPREADSHEET
4.1.1 Introduction
Spreadsheet is an application program that contains grid Of rows and
columns. In a spreadsheet application, each value sits in cell. Each cell
contains either alphanumeric text or numeric values.

4.1.2 Creating new workbook


Click on office button
Click on new
Click on blank workbook to create new workbook

4.1.3 Adding cell border


Select the cells you want to format
Click on small arrow
Select border tab
Select proper boarder
Click ok

-Select therange A1:B1

5. PRESENTATION SOFTWARE

5.1.1 Introduction
Presentation is the practice of showing and explaining the visual
content of topic to an audience or learner. A presentation program
such as Microsoft office PowerPoint is Often used to generate the
presentation content.
5.1.2 Change layout
Click on home tab
Click on the layout
Click on layout you want
5.1.3 Changing Theme
TO choose slide design; select the design tab and in the theme
group select any slide design u want
To choose color scheme; select the design tab and in the
theme group click on colors choose a color scheme u want TO
create your own color scheme select create new color

5.1.4 Slide transaction


Select the side you want Click on animation tab
Under the transition to this slide group choose an effect
from the transition gallery Click apply to all
Preview the slide by using shortcut key F5
6. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
6.1.1 Introduction
Adobe Photoshop is the ubiquitous and industry standard graphics
software for photographers, designers, digital artists, as well as causal
enthusiasts.
6.1.2 Opening image
From the file menu select open
The open dialogue box appear
Using the look in pull down list navigate to the desired image
Select the image
Click open the image appear

In the name text box, type the name of image
Enter value of image, height, width and resolution
Select unit of measurement an image mode and image

Click on the crop tool icon
Click and drag the cursor across the image to frame the
portion that you wish to keep
Double click on the image or hit enter key
Extracting image
Open the image from which you wish to extract an object
Activate the extract filter
Use the high lighter
Use the paint bucket fill icon and click on the inside of the
highlighter area to slow which part you want to keep and then
perform the extraction.
