I. INTRODUCTION
Economics as one of the Social Science disciplines encompasses the what, how and why
teach economics-related content and concepts and their application to real life situations. Everyday,
people face enormous economic challenges and financial issues. Thus, understanding these require
necessary critical thinking, decision-making and reasoning skills. As learners grow and learn, their
economic perspective take shape and influence their thoughts and actions. Based on this idea, the
proponent came up with this Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) focusing on national income as
one of the key concepts in economics.
This Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) focuses on the topic “Pambansang Kita” (National
Income). Sub-topics such as Gross National Income (GNI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will
be tackled here. These two concepts are very important for learners to understand because they are
part of the country’s national growth and development.
II. RATIONALE
This Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) entitled “Kita Ko at Kita Mo, Kita Nating Lahat”,
on lesson about “Pambansang Kita” is a self-learning material predominantly for Grade 9 students to
work on in order to increase their mastery and understanding on the said topic.
The SIM was conceptualized based on the results of the school-based Summative Test that
was administered and Mean Percentage Scores (MPS) acquired during the Third Quarter of the
previous school year, 2021-2022. The topic has been identified as one of the least mastered
competencies.
It is especially designed to provide students greater opportunity to develop their study skills
independently and freely. Specifically, this will help the students to familiarize themselves with the
basic concepts on the lesson about indicators of growth and development and their impact on
economic activity which is relevant in their daily lives. It also includes activities that will encourage
them to apply the knowledge they are going to gain.
III. OBJECTIVES
It is expected that after completing this SIM, the learners should be able to:
1. Define the key concepts of national income.
2. Analyze the differences between Gross National Income and Gross Domestic Product.
3. Demonstrate their understanding about the lesson through real life applications.
IV. PLAN OF ACTION/ACTIVITIES
Pre-evaluation will be given among the students with low mastery level; answering the
activities will follow; assessment will be given; learners will answer the enrichment activities; and
after which the results will be analyzed to find out if there is significant increase in the learners’
performance.

performance in about the concept of national income:

The writing of the SIM will be done from January 16 – 27, 2023. Implementation will be
done from February 13-17, 2023. Finalization of results and write-up will be done February 20-
March 3, 2023.
