Printed materials, Cartolina, Scotch energy in power plants
tape 2. Describe the process in the generation of
electrical energy in power plants

ELICIT
A. Preliminary Activities

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

a. Prayer
Let us all stand for the opening prayer.
(Student will stand and lead the prayer)

In the name of the father, of the son and of

the holy spirit. Amen,

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be

Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
Amen, day our daily bread; and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
b. Greetings against us; and lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Good morning class!
May I request everyone to please sit down,
arrange your chairs, and pick up some pieces of
paper? Good morning Ma’am Serfino.

c. Checking of Attendance

Let’s check the attendance first, say present as I

called your name.

Abelong, Ronie Jay

Present Ma’am
B. MOTIVATION

Before we begin, can you think of any other

appliances that use electrical energy? List as many
as you can.

Can you describe the function of each appliance you

listed above?

Example: oven toaster – heating bread

Question: Which appliance do you think consumes

most electricity?
ENGAGE
ACTIVITY 1: Before we proceed, I have here
another activity called Word search

Direction: From the word bank below find the hidden

words inside the box. You can mark it vertically,
horizontally and diagonally.

Students: will search the word.

EXPLORE
Instruction: you will be doing the Maintenance
Check-up! With the given pictures, place the
corresponding process that happens in each stage to Students: will perform the activity
the correct process of the generation,
transmission, and distribution of electricity. With the
process provided, match it to the corresponding
illustration of the process.

 Power plants generate electricity

 Neighborhood transformer step down voltage.
 Transformer step-up voltage for transmission.
 Transmission lines carry electricity over long
distances.
 Pole transformer step down electricity
before it enters the home.
 Distribution lines carry electricity to the home

EXPLAIN
Define
ELABORATE
 Identify the different types of power plants
(thermal, hydro, nuclear, solar, wind).
 Ask students: Which type of power plant is
most commonly used in our area? Why?

EVALUATE
Concept Mapping

Instruction: Create a concept map connecting heat transfer, work, energy, and real-life examples.

Example:

EXTEND
Assignment: Research Mini-Presentation (max of 5 member)
 Pick 1 topic its either (heat engines, refrigerators, solar panels).
 Present this information at our next meeting regarding heat transfer and its applications in real-life
situations.
