PROJECT PRESENTATION
Instructions for Students:
Dear Students,
Below are 10 project-based questions designed to help you prepare for interviews in
SQL, Python, Pandas, and Data Analysis. Each question requires hands-on coding and
a structured report for presentation. Choose any one question, work on the solution,
and prepare a concise PowerPoint/Google Slides presentation to explain your findings.
Submission Guidelines:
● Submit a Jupyter Notebook (or Python script) with code and analysis.
● Submit a PowerPoint/Google Slides presentation (5-7 slides) summarizing
your project.
● Clearly mention your approach, challenges faced, and key insights.
● Be ready to present your solution during mock interviews.
● Presentations for the project will be conducted throughout the day on
Monday, 3rd Feb.
● Deliverables to be submitted on LMS on 3rd Feb EOD 11 PM, provision
available on LMS.
Project-Based Interview Preparation Questions
1. Data Insights Dashboard
● Given an E-commerce Sales dataset, perform data cleaning, exploratory data
analysis (EDA), and visualize trends.
● Write SQL queries to find top-selling products, monthly sales trends, and
regional performance.
● Deliverables: Jupyter Notebook with SQL queries + Presentation.
2. Customer Churn Prediction
● Use a Telecom Customer Churn dataset to analyze why customers are
leaving.
● Perform feature engineering, analyze trends, and visualize churn patterns.
● Bonus: Apply a simple Logistic Regression model to predict churn.
3. HR Analytics & Employee Attrition
● Analyze an HR dataset containing employee details, performance, and attrition
status.
● Find trends in salary distribution, promotion rates, and attrition reasons.
● Write SQL queries to segment employees based on attrition risk.
4. Stock Market Data Analysis
● Work with stock price datasets to analyze trends in opening/closing prices,
volatility, and market patterns.
● Use Pandas to process data, generate moving averages, and plot trends.
● Bonus: Build a basic stock trend predictor using time series analysis.
5. Real-Time Weather Data Processing
● Fetch live weather data using an API and store it in a database.
● Write SQL queries to analyze temperature trends, extreme weather events,
and forecasting insights.
● Visualize trends using Pandas and Matplotlib.
6. Movie Ratings & Recommendation Analysis
● Use a MovieLens dataset to analyze movie ratings and genre preferences.
● Write SQL queries to find top-rated movies, user preferences, and rating
distributions.
● Bonus: Build a simple recommendation system based on user ratings.
7. Supermarket Sales Forecasting
● Analyze supermarket sales data to find trends in seasonal demand, popular
products, and revenue trends.
● Use SQL queries to identify peak sales months and customer spending
patterns.
● Bonus: Implement a basic time series forecast for predicting future sales.
8. AirBnB Data Analysis
● Work with AirBnB listings dataset to analyze trends in pricing, availability,
and customer preferences.
● Write SQL queries to find most expensive and budget-friendly locations.
● Visualize pricing trends and room type distribution.
9. Bank Loan Default Analysis
● Analyze a dataset of bank loan applicants to find risk factors for defaults.
● Find trends in credit scores, income levels, and repayment histories.
● Write SQL queries to segment high-risk customers and suggest loan policies.
10. YouTube Trending Videos Analysis
● Work with YouTube trending videos dataset to analyze video popularity,
trends, and engagement metrics.
● Write SQL queries to find top categories, video trends, and comment
sentiments.
● Bonus: Build a visualization dashboard showing key insights.
How to Approach the Project?
1. Understand the Problem Statement – What insights need to be extracted?
2. Data Cleaning & Preprocessing – Handle missing values, remove duplicates.
3. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) – Identify trends using Pandas & Matplotlib.
4. SQL Queries for Deep Analysis – Extract insights from structured data.
5. Storytelling with Data – Present key takeaways in a structured manner.
Expected Deliverables:
✅ Python Notebook with Pandas & SQL Queries
✅ Graphs, Charts, and Data Visualizations
✅ 5-7 Slides Presentation (Introduction, Key Insights, SQL Results, Conclusion)
✅ Presentation Skills – Prepare for Mock Interview Q&A
