Marie Curie Biography (Organized Chronologically)

1. She met (meet) her future husband Pierre Curie at the university.

2. He considered Marie to be a genius and instantly wanted (want) to work with her.

1903, the couple received the Nobel Prize in Physics for their pioneering research into

radioactivity.

• What was Marie Curie's role in the advancement of women in science?

Marie Curie exposed male prejudices and exclusionary practices in science and showed

that women should be taken seriously. Marie Curie played a significant role in advancing the

position of women in science by breaking gender barriers and becoming a prominent figure in a

male-dominated field. She inspired and paved the way for future generations of women

scientists.

• What tragic consequence did Marie Curie's work with radioactive materials have

on her health?

Tragically, Marie Curie's extensive work with radioactive materials led to detrimental

health effects, including chronic illnesses and ultimately her death due to aplastic anemia, likely

caused by prolonged exposure to radiation


• How is Marie Curie remembered today?

Marie Curie is remembered today as a pioneering scientist, a symbol of perseverance and

determination, and an inspiration for women in STEM fields. Her legacy continues to inspire and

influence scientific research and gender equality in the sciences.

¿Cómo se sintió con la actividad?

R// Bueno en el comienzo de esta actividad tenía dudas e inquietudes, pero con el tiempo

repasé lo solicitado con mucho esfuerzo y así cumplir este reto que fue esta actividad, gracias a

estas herramientas entregadas en el foro despejé muchos interrogantes, paso a paso se volvió

muy dinámica este trabajo muy divertida e interesante esta actividad.

¿Qué siente que debe mejorar en su proceso académico?

R// debo mejorar mi proceso académico, debo de organizar de la mejor manera mi

tiempo, ya que yo superé mis debilidades para este aprendizaje oportuno, muchas veces uno se

frustra al no entender muchas cosas, pero es solo cuestión de aprender y se muy perseverante

para así conseguir lo que quiere.

¿Cómo cree que esta actividad le aportó a su proceso académico?

R// Esta actividad construyó a mi crecimiento académico para pulsar mi interés a mejorar

mis habilidades para este curso de inglés A2, este trabajo me ha recordado que aprender de un

segundo idioma se necesita práctica y disciplina constante, considero que este trabajo me
fortaleció mis habilidades en los temas claves que trabajé y así me ha motivado a seguir

mejorando este hermoso idioma.

¿Cómo percibe usted la importancia de aprender un segundo idioma?

R// Al intentar aprender un segundo idioma es muy importante ya que nos enriquece el

conocimiento y nos permite poder expresar con diferentes personas y así facilitar un acceso a

más información y comunicarse, este idioma habrá muchas oportunidades en el campo laboral y

personal para hacer más competitivo y mejorar la calidad de nuestra vida..
