BLUESIL BP 9920
Description BLUESIL BP 9920 is a non-ionic, APEO free, polyorganosiloxane aqueous emulsion, to be used as
a water repellent additive in various formulations for building materials.

vapour permeability and beading effect at a low dosage.
In coatings, BLUESIL BP 9920 enhances the water repellency of the films, improves the
processability and the antiblocking characteristics.
Thanks to its efficiency at low dosage, the use of BLUESIL BP 9920 typically results in low dirt pick-
up tendency.

Instruction of use Additive for coatings formulations
Addition levels from 0.5 to 2% of BLUESIL BP 9920 compared to the total formulation are typically
used.
BLUESIL BP 9920 can also be thinned with water, between 1 to 5% of solids, for a use as water
repellent primer. In such formulations, we recommend to add acrylic emulsions.
Our technical department has made a number of tests which can serve as a basis for formulations.
For each new formulation, compatibility between constituents should be checked.

Storage and shelf life When stored in its original packaging:
BLUESIL BP 9920 may be stored at temperatures between 2°C / 36°F and 30°C / 86°F for up to
12 months from its date of manufacturing.
Comply with the storage instructions and expiration date marked on the packaging. Beyond this
date, Elkem Silicones no longer guarantees that the product meets the sales specifications.
