PAST SIMPLE
1. Usage:
- Used to describe completed actions in the past.
- Often used with time expressions like yesterday, last week, in 2010, an
hour ago, etc.
2. Form:
- Affirmative: Subject + Verb (past form) + Object.
Ex: She visited her grandmother last Sunday.
- Negative: Subject + did not (didn’t) + Verb (base form) + Object.
Ex: They didn’t go to the party yesterday.
- Interrogative: Did + Subject + Verb (base form) + Object?
Ex: Did you watch the movie last night?

1. Usage:

past.

2. Form:
- Affirmative: Subject + had + Past Participle + Object.
Ex: She had finished her work before dinner.
- Negative: Subject + had not (hadn’t) + Past Participle + Object.
Ex: They hadn’t seen that movie before.
- Interrogative: Had + Subject + Past Participle + Object?
Ex: Had she left before you arrived?

Ex: By next year, she will have graduated from university.
- Negative: Subject + will not (won’t) have + Past Participle + Object.
Ex: They won’t have finished their project by Monday.
- Interrogative: Will + Subject + have + Past Participle + Object?
Ex: Will you have completed the assignment by tomorrow?
