About the Institute

Ramco Institute of Technology, founded in 2013, is one of the premier engineering institutions in
Virudhunagar District. It is administered by Shri P.R. Venketrama Raja with a vision to impart high-
quality engineering education. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited four UG
programs — CSE, EEE, ECE, and MECH. Additionally, the institution is accredited by the National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A+. The college provides world-class
infrastructure and facilities to both students and staff members. It offers an excellent learning atmosphere,
facilitated by high-quality teaching from well-qualified and experienced faculty members, e-learning
modules, and smart classrooms.

About Central Library

The primary aim of the library is to support the curriculum needs of students, teaching staff & support staff
of the institution through the development of pertinent collections. The provision of services designed to
meet the user information and learning needs such as Book Bank Service, Lending Service, Digital Library
Service, Multimedia, and Periodical service. Library follows the open access system, thereby encouraging the
user to browse resources freely in the knowledge center.
The library holds a hybrid collection of printed as well as electronic resources that include books, journals,
audio-visuals, CD's, e-books, e-journals (IEEE, ScienceDirect, Springer and Wiley), thesis, etc. all these
collections are of the best quality and procured based on benchmarking exercises with the AICTE Norms.

About SALIS
SALIS (Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science) is a registered professional
body established in 2002. It has been actively involving in the development of all spheres of library and
information science by organizing various programmes, including conference, seminars, workshop, and
training programmes on emerging topics in various parts of the country. These programmes are
organized through SALIS chapters located in many places. SALIS publishes national and international
journals, proceedings, and a newsletter for the exchange of information and knowledge among LIS
professionals. SALIS has instituted many awards to encourage and motivate LIS professionals. One of
the objectives of SALIS is to train LIS professionals in the country to handle the latest IT tools and
techniques more effectively and effiecntly and to adopt the best practices to provide high-quality services.

Programme Objectives

To learn research publication process and the ways to ensure quality in writing research papers/thesis.
To learn research publication metrics such as h-index, i-index,etc.
To understand citation analysis.
To create awareness about citation and impact factor.
To know the issues related to plagiarism.
To acquaint the participants with the basics of Intellectual Property rights and patent filing.
To compare and contrast the different forms of Intellectual Property protection in terms of their key
differences and similarities.
To provide an overview of the statutory, procedural, and case law underlining these processes and
their interplay with litigation.
To encourage young minds towards innovation and motivate them to strive towards Make in India
initiatives.
To introduce various funding platforms and facilities under the Institution’s Innovation Council.
