Assignment 5

Feminism emerged as a global movement demanding political inclusion for women. Suffragettes
advocated for the right to vote and participate in public affairs. Women began to demand the same
rights as men, including political representation.

In the last lecture, concerns arose about the reliability of self-regulating markets after the 1907 panic.
John Maynard Keynes highlighted the fragility of the global economic system's core. The shrinking of the
world due to globalization made social class disparities more visible.

Globalization fostered interconnectivity and allowed movements to leverage media to shape public
perception. Movements gained momentum and extended their influence beyond national boundaries.
Despite challenges, movements for reform persisted in pushing for greater equality.

Movements for reform transcended national borders, utilizing new methods to influence public opinion.
Activists focused on citizenship rights both domestically and internationally. From New Zealand to
Tokyo, activists participated in reshaping global political dynamics.

Counter images depicted men resisting women's changing roles in society. Some suffragettes used
dramatic tactics to protest, such as Emily Davidson's protest at the Epson Derby in 1913. These protests
and images began to affect public sentiment and politics.
