Today we will be discussing about the
different Parts and Function of a
Flower.
PARTS OF THE FLOWER
PETALS – the colorful parts of the
flower that attracts birds and insects.
The group of petals forms
corolla
ANTHER – produces polle grains
which contains the male sex cells;
it also stores pollen in pollen sacs.
FILAMENT – thin tubes that hold the
anther.
RECEPTABLE – is at the base of the
flower.
STIGMA – tip of the pistil, it receives
pollen grains during pollination.
STYLE – slender stalk that holds the
stigma in place and connects the
stigma to the ovary.
SEPALS – the green leaf-like
structure at the flower part of the
flower, also called as the calyx that
protects the developing flower called
bud.
OVARY – the enlarge base of the
pistil which contains the ovules.
That is the different parts of the
flower.
c. Group Activity
The teacher will group the class into
three groups.
Each group will be given 5 min for
the preparation and another 5 min. for
the group presentation.
