Expedition Kit List

Bring all the following kit – discussion with your assessor must be undertaken before
ditching anything

PERSONAL CLOTHING
- walking boots (worn in) - walking trousers (no jeans or
- walking socks fleece joggers)
- thermal base layer/t-shirt in - wind & waterproof jacket
breathable material - waterproof trousers
- fleece/jumper - hi-vis jacket
- gaiters (optional)

PERSONAL KIT – EVERY TEAM MEMBER MUST HAVE THESE ITEMS


- Large rucksac that fits with rain - Spare clothing (trousers, top,
cover (approx. 55-65 litre capacity) jumper, underwear, socks) as
- Rucksac liner &/or dry bags appropriate to the expedition
- Sleeping mat length
- Sleeping bag - Hat, gloves &/or sunhat, sunscreen
- Survival bag (dependent on the weather)
- Personal first aid kit - Water container (2 litres)
- Watch - Emergency food rations (not to be
- Whistle eaten until after the debrief)
- Notebook & pen/pencil clearly noted
- Torch & spare batteries - Cutlery, plate/bowl (items they
- Washkit & small/micro towel can eat with and off)
- Flipflops (optional) - Penknife
- Flask (optional)

TEAM KIT – THESE MUST BE SHARED BETWEEN THE TEAM


- Lightweight tents - Compasses (minimum 2 per team)
- Cookers & fuel - Teatowel
- Matches/lighter in waterproof - Food (as per menu plan)
