10 CLEANING
To ensure that your Sika flooring system stays in the
best of shape and gives you years of satisfaction the
correct cleaning and maintenance schedule should be
used.
When first installed and fully cured your floor should
be cleaned with an appropriate floor cleaner using the
most suitable equipment for the area concerned.
10.3 PRECAUTIONS:
If you will now be placing equipment, storage racking, goods, furniture, filing cabinets etc. on
the floor, then every effort should be taken to minimise surface scratching and marking.
Dragging of heavy articles across the flooring may damage the surface.
Fork lift trucks should be driven with care to avoid marking caused by wheel spin or slide.
11/13
Once the above action or the decision to leave the floor as supplied has been taken, then the
floor will require regular cleaning with either a neutral or mildly alkaline floor cleaner
depending upon the type and level of soiling encountered.
If you have decided to use a sacrificial surface polish on your floor then any visible wear can
be overlaid with a fresh coat. However, if continual additions of coats are made then it may
be necessary to occasionally remove the polish and start-a-fresh.
10.5 SPILLAGES:
Spillages of any liquid should be wiped up or absorbed and removed as soon as possible. Not
only is this a responsible action as far as Health and Safety is concerned, it will also help you
to keep your floor in good condition.
Once the spillage is removed the area should be cleaned as usual with your standard floor
cleaner.
If a sacrificial coat has been previously applied the floor should be inspected to see if this
remains. If not, it should be reapplied as soon as possible.

1: INTRODUCTION
Material Lab Testing Services LLC (MLTS), was commissioned by Sika UAE LLC, DIC, Dubai to
determine the rate of burning and/or extent and time of burning of plastics in a horizontal position
in accordance with “ASTM D635-18 Standard Test Method for Rate of Burning and/or Extent and
Time of Burning of Plastics in a Horizontal Position”, for the following specimen:
2: INSTRUMENTATION
Instruments used to conduct the test have been identified in table 2.
3.1 Sampling
Material Lab Testing Services L.L.C., Dubai was not involved in the sampling or selecting
procedure of the specimens. The specimens were tested as received from the sponsor as
shown in figure 1.
Form No: RBP-FR/007-DIP Issue No.: 01 Rev No. & Date : 0 : 03/08/2021 Report No.: FRR-2206/6805 Page 4 of 7
3.2 Specimen Preparation
Ten prepared specimens were provided by the sponsor each with a dimension of 125mm length
x 13mm width.
3.3 Conditioning
The specimens were delivered to the lab by the representative of the test sponsor. Prior to
testing the specimens were conditioned as mentioned in table 3.
Temperature 23 0C
Relative Humidity 50 %
Conditioning Duration 48 hrs

4: TEST PROCEDURE
The test was conducted using a laboratory burner inside a test chamber. In this test method
nominally specimens with a dimension of 125mm long by 13mm wide were supported
horizontally at one end and exposed to methane gas flame at the free end for 30 seconds. When
the flame front reaches the 25mm mark, the rate of the burn was measured with a timer until the
flame reached the 100mm mark or the flame self-extinguished.

6: LIMITATIONS
This standard is used to measure and describe the response of materials, products, or
assemblies to heat and flame under controlled conditions, but does not by itself incorporate
all factors required for fire hazards or fire risk assessment of materials, products, or
assemblies under actual fire conditions
The test results relate only to the specimens of the product in the form in which they were
tested. Small differences in the composition of the product may significantly affect the
performance during the test and may therefore invalidate the test results.
The test was carried out in compliance with the standard test method of ASTM D635-18.
