and lost one of their factory workers. In this accident they also suffered major financial
loss. Gaurav was able to recover from the shock within few weeks but Jatin couldn’t cope

2. John is suffering with OCD and his therapist blames his childhood experiences and
suppressed negative feelings during John’s developing years for his condition. Describe

3. Rohit was a member of a group in which none of the group members liked smoking.
After some time, Rohit picked up smoking. Now whenever the group members met, he
started smoking which was not appreciated by any of the group members. Rohit was soon
moved out of the group. Identify and explain the element of the group structure Rohit did
not comply.
4. Mr. Gupta loves his daughter Preeti a lot and wants to give her all the happiness and
opportunities to progress. Preeti has been selected for a professional course in a reputed
college of Delhi but Mr. Gupta is not ready to let her go to Delhi to pursue the course
because he believes that children who go to Delhi to stay often get spoiled and indulge in

5. Trish was a 51-year-old woman who was brought to the emergency room by her husband.
She said, “I feel like killing myself.” She had lost her interest in life about four months
before. During that time, she reported depression every day for most of the day.
Symptoms had been getting worse for months. She had lost 14 pounds without dieting
because she did not feel like eating. She had trouble falling asleep almost every night and
woke at 3:00 a.m. several mornings a week (she normally woke at 6:30 a.m.). She had
low energy, trouble staying focused and less ability to do her office job at a dog food-
processing plant. She was convinced that she had made a mistake that would lead to the
deaths of thousands of dogs. She expected that she would soon be arrested and would
rather kill herself than go to prison.
6. Trish showed symptoms sad mood, loss of interest or pleasure, weight loss, insomnia,
restlessness, loss of energy, extreme guilt, trouble staying focused and thoughts of suicide

7. Mr. Gupta’s life has not been normal for past few months as he is unable to
concentrate on any task in hand because he is all the time worried about falling sick
of viral infections. So he is all the time working to keep the things around him

cannot sit at a place for even brief period of time, whereas on other days, he
seems to be totally withdrawn and lost. Sometimes he seems to be extremely
talkative and extravagant and on other hand sometimes he seems to be very sad
