The square root of a number is the factor that we can multiply by themselves to obtain the
number.
The symbol of a square root is .
The square root of a perfect square number is a whole number (no decimal or fraction)
Ex : 25 = ± 5
We can use prime factorization to find square roots from a perfect square number.
Example:
4 2 4÷2 2÷2 2
144 = 2 × 3 =2 ×3 = 2 × 3 = 12
