COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Presents basic economic concepts emphasizing the part the United States plays in a global economy. Foundations of economic theory are presented, using
topics from television news and mass media. Topics introduced are GDP, national income accounting, United States fiscal policy, and economic growth.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Apply economic concepts to analyze and explain fiscal policy.
Apply economic concepts to analyze and explain monetary policy and interest rates.
Describe and explain the United States economy.
Evaluate real world economic problems and policies using the concepts and tools taught in the course.
Explain basic economic principles and important macroeconomic measures such as GDP and the CPI.
