HOW TO USE QUESTION WORDS
1. Use Helping Verbs
(Do/Does/Did/Am/Is/Are/Was/Were/Have/Has/Will
, etc.)
A. Present Simple
• Use do or does + base verb
• You eat pizza. → Do you eat pizza?
• She likes dogs. → Does she like dogs?
B. Past Simple
• Use did + base verb
• He watched a movie. → Did he watch a movie?
C. Present Continuous
• Use am/is/are + verb+ing
• She is reading. → Is she reading?
D. Past Continuous
• Use was/were + verb+ing
• They were running. → Were they running?
E. Present Perfect
• Use have/has + past participle
• You have finished. → Have you finished?
F. Future (will)
• Use will + base verb
• She will travel. → Will she travel?
2. Start with a Wh-question word (if needed):
• Who, What, Where, When, Why, How
Examples:
• Where do you live?
• Why is she crying?
• What did he say?
3. Yes/No Questions start with the helping verb:
• Are you hungry?
• Does he play football?
• Did they call you?
Quick Formula:
(Wh-word) + helping verb + subject + main verb?
Example:
• What + do + you + want? → What do you want?
PRACTICE
Change these into questions:
1. She plays the piano.
2. They went to the park.
3. He is watching TV.
4. You have finished your homework.

And now try with Wh- question words:
