Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of the importance of
learning English and to know the function of English in the future. Many people
underestimate learning English. This study uses the method of searching data from various
sources that are collected into one. The results of this study indicate that English is very
important in covering aspects of our lives, from work to career paths. In conclusion, in the
current increasingly large impact of globalization, mastering English is an aspect that is no
less important. With good language skills, it is able to make us progress more.

Introduction
1.1 Background
Language is one of the important aspects in supporting social life. In this
world, there are many kinds of languages such as English, German, Dutch and
others. No wonder our country itself has many languages, such as an easy example,
namely Indonesian as the national language and the second language, namely
English.
Many schools in Indonesia teach English in every subject. In fact, it is not
uncommon to find schools with full English teaching. Therefore, English is the
second language that Indonesians must understand.
English is also known as the language commonly used in all parts of the world,
or it can be known as a universal language. This is very possible if English can be
used to form a relationship from one country to another. Not only that, we as students
can also use English to build relationships with people abroad. Interacting with
strangers can increase our knowledge and often we can exchange information. That's
what makes learning English so important to learn today.
English alone has been used as the first language by around 375 million people,
as a second language by many people and as a foreign language by about 750
million. It has official or special status in at least 70 countries and is being studied by
around one billion people. The figures themselves make English important in the
fields of tourism, media, internet, or business.
1.2 Purpose
- Know how important English is in everyday life
- Increase understanding of the importance of English.
Theory and Discussion
2.1 Why should English?
English is a universal language. English alone is the first language for more
than 400 million people in the world. No wonder so many countries use English as
their daily language. In English it is usually grouped into 2, namely English US
(United States) and English UK (United Kingdom).
Apart from the large number of English users, this language also has a big
influence on our future careers. For now, many companies are looking for employees
with good English language skills. Not only that, good English skills are also able to
continue our studies overseas. For example, continuing to study at Oxford University
in England, in addition to academic scores, good English language skills are also the
standard for admission of new students on the campus.
2.2 English nowdays
Nowadays english language holds an important role in the life of the global
community. English langugae has now publicly acknowledged as the international
language that has been domiciled in various industrial fields. Be it politics,
economics, or art and culture. English langua ge has invaded all sectors and
dominated the pop culture society, the majority of the content of the (www) is writen
in english language. even now In a lighter perspective, we can see the development
role of english language in pop culture society young Indonesia. The entertainment
industy been filled by many English language content.
Not only in music, in education industry has realized the importance of the role
English language in Indonesia. International schools started many we see in every
corner of Jakarta, and in some other major cities. English language curriculum in
schools nationwide have also been developed and/or renewed each year for current
community needs. Courses of English language from a different world, or locally
owned lots are found in every town. With a price range of different courses, language
learning is available to any English language among the public. We can't denied the
role of English language, particularly in Asian countries will continue to grow with
over time. And similarly, in Indonesia, the English language will continue to play an
important role in our daily lives.
Conclusion
3.1 Conclusion
English is a unicerval language. This language is the language that is widely
used to communicate by many countries. English is a language that is very influential
in aspects of our lives. We can do relationships and exchange information with
foreigners if we are able to master English.
English is also a language that really supports the future. Like getting a job.
Many companies are looking for employees with good English skills. English is also
able for us to use it as a pathway to higher education.
The importance of the English language also covers aspects of the music and
education industry. Where in music, teenagers love music in English. And in the
education industry, many educational applications are in English in each program.
