Notes on Hearing God's Voice and Responding to His Activity
My prayer is that during this study, you will be able to…
- Regardless of your past experiences and current circumstances, the goal of this study is to
help you develop the ability to hear when God is speaking to you.
- The study aims to enable you to clearly identify God's activity in your life, understanding who
He is and what He desires for you.
- It encourages you to trust in Him and believe in His promises, adjusting your beliefs, character,
and behavior to align with His ways.
- One of the objectives is to recognize the direction in which God is leading you, discerning His
plans and purposes for your life.
- The study seeks to help you clearly understand what God wants to do in and through you,
experiencing His power and presence.
- Ultimately, the focus is on knowing how to respond to God's activity in your life, taking
appropriate action and witnessing His transformative work.
Remember, this study is designed to deepen your relationship with God and equip you to live a
life aligned with His will. Stay open to His voice, trust in His guidance, and expect Him to
accomplish great things through you.
John 14:26 says, "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will
teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
This book is not just for reading. It is a part of a learning system, design to teach the material
and help you move into a deeper relationship with God.
You will need to complete the self study in the workbook during the week. Then we will meet to
review, discuss questions that arise, share personal experiences and insights we will pray for
one another, and apply the truth to our lives.
Spiritual journal:
You will need a notebook for creating your spiritual journal. Assignments in the notebook will fall
into five different categories so you will need a notebook or three ring binder with dividers and
tabs for each section. You can find this on page 271 of your experiencing God book.
1. Testimonies: This section is for recording diary accounts of what God is doing in, around, and
through your life. It includes lessons learned about God, His purposes, and His ways.
2. Daily Review: At the end of each day, review the lessons, identify meaningful scripture
statements, and respond to them. This section allows you to record summaries of what God is
saying through His word, prayer, circumstances, and the church. It also includes adjustments
and responses God may be calling you to make.
3. Weekly Review: Reflect on what God has revealed about Himself, His purposes, and His
ways. Record experiences of His presence, scriptures that have spoken to you, burdens or
concerns for prayer, and insights gained through circumstances.
4. Spiritual Markers: Document times when God clearly spoke to you in your journal. These
markers serve as reminders of God's faithfulness and can provide guidance and direction in
decision-making.
5. Prayer Requests: Use this section to record prayer requests and answers to prayers. Include
the date of the request and update it with the date when God answers. Take time to praise God
for answered prayers and divide the section to include personal requests, group requests,
church requests, and other special requests.
By utilizing these sections in your journal, you can track and reflect on your spiritual journey,
observe God's faithfulness, and seek His guidance and direction in your life.
