I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 1-hour discussion, the grade 3 students are able to:

A. identify the go, grow, and glow foods using pictures;


B. classify pictures of food as go, grow, and glow foods; and
C. give the importance of go, grow, and glow foods and good eating habits

1. Activity

“GUESS ME”
The teacher will show a half pictures of a food and the students will
guess what food is being shown.

2. Analysis

1. Have you ever tasted the foods you saw in our activity?
2. Which one is your favorite food in our activity?
3. Based on you answers in our activity, what do you think is our topic for today?

3. Abstraction
Food Groups

 GO - helps you dance, run, jump, and play all day. It


gives us energy to carry out all your activities. It
contains carbohydrates and fats. Examples are bread, rice
and potato.

 GROW - helps build our muscles and they are rich in


protein. Protein helps repair wounds. Examples are
milk, meat and beans.

 GLOW - They are rich in vitamins and minerals. It


protects us from illnesses. Examples are fruits and
vegetables.
4. Application

Group work: The class will be divided into three. Each group will be given pictures
of food. The group will help each other to classify the foods as go, grow or glow
and show in front of the class.

Rubrics: Teamwork – 20%


Correct arrangement – 50%
Explanation – 20%
Respectful Behaviors – 10%
Total – 100%

IV. Evaluation

In your ½ crosswise, classify the food whether they are go, grow and
glow food using the table.

V. Assignment

Draw your 3 favorite foods and pass it tomorrow.
