ABOUT ORGANIZATION

Unnatii Trust is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children by


providing them with free education and study materials, ensuring that
no child is deprived of learning opportunities. Our mission extends
beyond education to environmental conservation, where we engage in
community plantation drives, including roadside pathways and
educational institution premises. We envision a future where
humanity coexists harmoniously with nature.

Unnatii Trust is committed to societal betterment with a focus on child


education, social forestry, providing surplus materials to those in
need, healthcare, and skill development programs. The organization is
a registered trust under the Indian Trust Act 1882 (Registration No.
225, dated 20th Feb 2023). It is also recognized by MSME, GeM, E-
Anudhan, and NitiAyog's NGO Darpan. With its headquarters in
Suddhowala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Unnatii Trust continues to work
towards a sustainable and equitable society.

SOCIAL INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES (GOALS)

The objective of this visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of


the rural nearby community, focusing on the educational needs and daily
challenges faced by underprivileged children and their families.

Activity Description: Underprivileged Education


Session and Survey
The team from Unnatii Trust conducted an education session and survey
targeting underprivileged children in a nearby slum/village. The
objective was to understand the educational challenges faced by these
children and to provide immediate support through an interactive
learning session.

Key Activities:

1. Introduction and Orientation:


o The session began with a brief introduction to Unnatii Trust
and its mission. The children and their families were informed
about the purpose of the visit and the importance of education
in breaking the cycle of poverty.
2. Interactive Learning Session:
o A hands-on learning session was conducted, where
educational materials such as books, notebooks, and
stationery were distributed to the children.
o Volunteers engaged the children in interactive activities,
including storytelling, drawing, and basic literacy exercises,
aimed at stimulating their interest in learning.
3. Survey of Educational Needs:
o A structured survey was carried out to assess the current
educational status of the children, including:

 Enrollment in formal education.


 Regularity of school attendance.
 Availability of study materials at home.
 Challenges in accessing education (e.g., distance to
school, financial constraints, lack of parental support).
o The survey also included interviews with parents, teachers,
and community leaders to gather their perspectives on the
barriers to education in the community.
4. Community Interaction:
o Conversations were held with the children's families and
community members to understand the broader social and
economic challenges that impact the children's education.
o The team also discussed potential solutions and ways the
community could be involved in supporting the children’s
education.
5. Immediate Support:
o Based on the immediate needs identified during the survey,
Unnatii Trust provided additional resources such as
educational kits, uniforms, and basic hygiene supplies.
o Plans were made for follow-up visits to monitor progress and
provide continued support.

KEY FINDING

PROJECT 1: Survey on Children’s Education in

Duration: Day 1 to Day 15

Objective:

To assess the state of education among children in underprivileged communities,


identify barriers to school enrollment and attendance, and recommend solutions to
improve access to quality education.

Activities and Execution:


Day 1 to 5:

 Conducted a baseline survey in slums and rural areas.


 Household visits to understand family situations and identify children not
enrolled in schools.
 Engaged with parents and teachers to explore challenges such as:
o Lack of financial resources
o Distance to educational institutions
o Need for better study materials

Day 6 to 10:

 Distributed educational kits (books, stationery, notebooks) to children facing


resource shortages.
 Conducted learning sessions with children involving drawing, storytelling, and
literacy activities to foster interest in education.
 Encouraged parents to prioritize education and explained available
government programs supporting child education.

Day 11 to 15:

Day 16 to 20: Awareness Sessions

 Held sessions in villages to address key issues:

o Early marriage
o Social stigma hindering education
 Highlighted the importance of literacy and skill development for financial
independence.

The social internship with Unnatii Trust was an enriching experience that

education and promoted awareness on health, hygiene, and environmental

children.
