Programme 10 05
Programme 10 05
The APPI board is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our President, colleague and above all our dearest
friend, Alberto Gaspar. We believe that going ahead with this year’s Conference is a way to honour his legacy
and give the opportunity to gather his APPI family and do what he did during his life: the professional
development of the EFL teachers with (He)Art.
This year’s APPI Conference motto mirrors our beloved President’s legacy, not only living and teaching with
Art but also with Heart.
“Some argue that teaching at large is a science, some that it is an art. And still others argue that it is a little
of both plus a craft. As to being a science, it is thoroughly clear that there are ways of doing EFL teaching
(strategies, practices…) that research has shown to be effective in boosting learning (knowledge, skills, and
competencies); as to teaching being an art, teaching EFL shows how teachers work creative ways to enhance
learning, thus making students enjoy learning. What about the (he)art of teaching EFL? The bracketed ‘he’
can make all the difference if we do believe that ‘at the heart of every great teacher lies’ – among other
features – ‘empathy, positivity, the desire to build something, and the will to inspire.’ This is what Rusul
Alrubail (Toronto, Canada) believes to be at the heart of teaching…”
Conference delegates can count on a promising programme which focuses on topics that go from personal
growth to the art of teaching through different and inclusive approaches, all available in a wide range of
plenaries, workshops, talks and a discussion on Artificial Intelligence in the EFL classroom/environment. This
will surely bring together professionals with common interests to not only discuss issues, but also to share
and create new ideas and network.
During the whole Conference – or part of it – delegates are invited to make the most of the presentations
led by distinguished speakers, and to socialise, meet friends and make new ones; to have the opportunity to
participate in the cultural events – Piano concert and book signing moments. Members are also invited to
attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on Saturday evening; and the special APPI draw for
valuable prizes – this can only contemplate winners who are present at the AGM. Delegates should also take
some time to visit the exhibition hall and the bookshops.
APPI’s warm thanks go to all the delegates, sponsors, speakers and exhibitors for their presence and ongoing
support.

Attendance certificates will be sent by email.

CONFERENCE ACCREDITATION /
ACREDITAÇÃO DO CONGRESSO
O 36º Congresso Anual da APPI, “The (He)ART of Teaching EFL” integra o plano de formação APPIforma para 2023.
menos, dois dias do evento;
NOTA:
Exemplo:
In this session we were given very practical examples of speaking tasks that we can create for students (1). particularly liked the idea
of appointing a person in class to monitor a group discussion, which I have used previously, and it really worked well (2). Being
nominated a monitor sometimes gives the students a boost in their self-esteem.
(a) razões para a participação no Congresso;
alcançados);
(c) aprendizagens mais importantes e/ou áreas da formação de particular interesse;
(d) impacto que as aprendizagens levadas a cabo terão sobre a sua prática letiva;
(e) auto-avaliação e comentário final.
NOTA:
“Adequação” é a correspondência entre cada parâmetro e o texto elaborado;
“Clareza” é de âmbito comunicativo e prende-se com a fluidez e correção discursiva;
NOTA:
– aconselha-se a atualização (última versão) do Adobe Acrobat no computador;
preenchidos e gravados novamente, atribuindo-lhe o nome da/do participante no Congresso;
preenchidos.
