MANAGER – SUPPLY CHAIN LOGISTICS
Location: Chennai
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse operations
- Manage day-to-day operation and administrative matters of all warehouses
through WH managers / CFA managers.
- Ensure timely physical and system inward & storage of goods at all
warehouses.
- Ensure orders are billed & dispatched OTIF within the timeline with all
necessary documents. Track hold orders in warehouses and regular follow-up
to clear them.
- Manage cost of operations as per the budget of all warehouses.
- Analyse shortage and Interchange cases of incoming stock at warehouses.
Take timely corrective actions.
- Monitoring storage norms, stacking height & FIFO compliance at warehouses.
- Ensure inventory accuracy at all depots (Capture reasons for the discrepancy
and drive action plan with depots).
- Regular monitoring of blocked stock and clean-up to ensure inventory
hygiene.
- Ensure the overall performance of all warehouses as per score card. Identify
low-performing warehouses and drive an action plan for the improvement
plan.
- In still a culture of continuous improvement and safety in all warehouses.
- Identify and drive programs for cost reduction and reduce the impact on
climate by use of sustainable sources of power, etc.
2. Transportation
- Manage transportation operations to ensure delivery of consignment within
agreed TAT.
- Ensuring transporter performance, reviewing, and improving Transportation
service level.
- Timely resolution of customer complaints and working with the transporter to
cater to urgent requirements.
- Identify transporters in new routes (existing routes, where required) including
negotiation and cost evaluation for forward and reverse logistics businesses
requirements.
- Transporter contract management and ensure timely processing of bill
processing.
- Freight comparison, negotiation & proposing new opportunities for cost &
CO2 reduction. Lane consolidation and route optimization programs to run for
cost optimization.
- Cost for logistics activities, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost-
saving initiatives.
- Identify and drive programs for reduction of CO2 emission and induction of
new trends such as EV for deliveries.
- Develop and implement strategies for managing reverse logistics processes,
including Buyback, product returns, exchanges, and recycling.
3. Infrastructure Management
- Propose infrastructure requirements at all warehouses.
- Drive deployment of infrastructure as per approved Capex Audit
Management.
- Develop and implement SOP for all the processes.
- Manage and control Internal fleet of trucks. Optimize operation and drivers
to ensure max utilization.
4. Internal audit
- Planning of monthly internal stock audit and its compliance.
- Ensure perpetual inventory counting during depot visits- EHS & safety audit
compliance.
- Ensure standard safety measures in the warehouse to avoid accidents.
- Sale accounting / Receivables - Ensuring accurate sale Accounting
(Invoicing & sales returns).
- Conduct monthly meets with the Sales team on various Sales support-related
issues for timely closure of issues and identify / close improvement areas
- Ensure all customer complaints (SR) are closed as per TAT
5. External audit
- Compliance as per third-party audits and submitting action plan- ISO audit
preparation and successful audit without exception. Identify improvement
opportunities arising out of audit observations and closure of actions EHS,
Safety & Statutory compliance.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance,
coaching, and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous
improvement within the logistics team.
- Delegate tasks effectively and empower team members to achieve
individual and collective goals.
Experience / Skills
Designation: Manager - Supply Chain Logistics
Experience: 8- 15 years of exp.
Edu: Graduate + MBA (Operations/Logistics)
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is
a plus.
Language: English and Hindi mandatory
Skills: Excel, SAP MM Module/Finance Module, PowerPoint, GST regulations, RTO
Compliance. POWER BI & Good Analytical Skills (demonstrated in previous
assignments)
Added Advantage: Salesforce know-how, Power BI, Knowledge of ISO 9001,
ISO 45001
