My Favourite Season – Rainy Season
Of all the seasons, the rainy season is my favourite. After months of scorching heat during the
summer, the arrival of rain is refreshing and delightful. The first drops of rain falling on the
dry ground release a sweet smell that makes me feel peaceful and happy. The sky turns dark
with thick clouds, and soon, rain pours down, cooling the earth and making everything look
fresh and clean.
One of the things I enjoy most about the rainy season is watching the transformation of
nature. Trees, plants, and grass become lush green. Birds come out and sing cheerfully, and
the temperature becomes pleasant. I love listening to the sound of raindrops falling on the
roof and watching water trickle down the windows. Sometimes, I like to step outside and play
in the rain with my friends. Jumping in puddles and feeling the cool rain on my skin is pure
joy.
The rainy season is also important for farmers. It brings the water needed to grow crops like
rice, sugarcane, and corn. Without rain, farming would suffer, and there would be food
shortages. Rivers, lakes, and ponds get filled during this season, which helps in providing
water throughout the year.
However, the rainy season also brings some problems. Flooding can occur in low-lying areas,
and people may fall sick due to waterborne diseases. Roads become slippery and muddy,
making travel difficult. But despite these challenges, I still love this season the most.
The rainy season brings beauty, freshness, and life. It reminds us of the power of nature and
the importance of water in our lives. For me, the sound, smell, and feel of rain create
memories that I cherish. It is a season of growth, joy, and peace—and that is why it is my
favourite.
