The One Green Mile Project’ under Senapati Bapat Marg flyover in

Mumbai
Pedestrian and vehicular movement challenges before the project includes:
 Conflict of traffic at entry or exit of OIC and under the flyover.
 Underutilized and neglected space under flyover.
 Lack of safe walking space- unsafe pedestrian movement
 Illegal encroached parking
 Existing footpath insufficient for current flux of people—pedestrians on
carriage way

The project a complete street that address needs of all users:


 Safe pedestrian crossings and public realm
 Seamlessly integrated non motorised infrastructure
 Streamlining vehicular movement

Transformations that took place:


A vehicular dominated street to complete street with footpath.

Encroached parking space to a friendly street.

Discontinuous and broken footpaths to continuous walking space and inclusive


public realm
Narrow footpaths to wider public realm

Underutilized flyover spaces to truly public space for all people , space for kids,
public art and design

Open bus stops, way finding signage were installed.

 2.3 acres 9,500 sqm Reclaimed public space for walking, cycling,
plazas, landscape
 2,000sqm Optimization of underutilized spaces: to urban park and
plaza below the flyover
 120 trees in one km stretch
