SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
Alloy A53 can normally be expected to give
better life than A51 in applications where
corrosion is the dominant factor.
Alloy A53 can be used in phosphoric acid
duties where erosive wear is also a problem.
The alloy can also be used in acidic slurries
containing high chloride levels down to a pH
of 1 (see fig.4).
A53 also finds use in other corrosive
applications, such as in applications involving
other oxidizing acids.

MATERIAL NAME

Ultrachrome® High Cr, Low C WMD CODE: A53


CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Alloy A53 has excellent chemical resistance
to phosphoric and to phosphoric acid slurries
containing small levels of sulphuric acid.
This alloy also has excellent resistance to
slurries containing relatively high chloride
levels down to relatively low pH.
