Present Continuous Tense

The Present Continuous tense is also called Present Progressive tense. It is used to show
an action/event that is still happening at the time the speaker is speaking or in the other words is
still in progress.

The pattern for Present Continuous Tense:

S + To be 1 (am/is/are) + V-ing

Examples:

- Ethan is eating in the dining room now.


- They are playing badminton at the moment.

Forming negative and interrogative sentences:

a. Negative

Pattern: S + To be 1 (am/is/are) + not + V-ing

Example: Ethan is not eating in the dining room now.

b. Interrogative

Pattern: To be 1 (am/is/are) + S + V-ing + ?

Example: Is Ethan eating in the dining room now?
