James Naismith History
James Naismith is known world wide as the father of basketball . His way of thinking and theory
around the sport PAVED a pathway for young athletes. The question might arise, why should James
Naismith be in the history books? His invention of basketball was the mark set for those who felt
academics wasn t their strong point. James Naismithis basketball, and basketball is James Naismith.
Naismith is truly a man of the past, present and future, he was a man who wasn t afraid to push the
envelope in whatever he was doing.

James Naismith built the sport of basketball out of nothing. The sport basketball known to society
today, isn t the same sport it was in 1891. Originally played with two peach baskets and a soccer
ball, Naismith published ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He worked hard so that basketball could be at it s highest in the future. Once he conquered that he
DID NOT stop working, Dr. Naismith decided that he wanted to teach as many young people as
he possibly could. That LED to the wide spread of basketball. He was inducted into the hall of
fame as someone who contributed to making this game what it is now. The invention of basketball
was a complete change to sports and how sports can be played. James Naismith is truly one for the
history books with his outstanding effort to achieve nothing but greatness and to inspire those to

Nymph s Spinster
Sylvia Plath s Spinster was effective in presenting its view that love is unrealistic, however, Sir
Walter Raleigh s The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd was more direct. Sylvia Plath s sixains and
uneven lines contradicted the speaker s view that love is disorderly. The Nymph s Reply to the
Shepherd followed the Iambic pentameter that complimented the speaker s argument that of why love
is incredulous between an immortal and a mortal. Through tone, symbolism, imagery, and worldview
Sir Walter Raleighmanages to present the Nymph s attitude toward love in a artistic and effective
way.
Plath s tone in Spinster is cynical. The poem consist of an angry rant against love, which is
presented by Spring (Plant 22). To the speaker love isn t worthwhile ... Show more content on

The shepherd presents the nymph with flowers, shoes, and beds of roses to persuade her, but
they fail to meet the nymph s conditions, All these in me no means can move (Raleigh 19). The
gifts can t move her because with time the shepherd s gifts would, Soon break, soon wither
(Raleigh 16). The gifts are no use to the nymph as an immortal being. The symbolism in Spinster
is similar to Raleigh s because just immortality and mortality can t coexist, neither can spring or
winter. The speaker in Spinster can be tempted by spring which is a symbol of love because, Only
idiots/Reel giddy in bedlam spring (Plath 22). The speaker doesn t appreciate bird songs or other
the other beauties of spring and refers to a bird s song as Irregular babel (Plath 5). The speaker
prefers winter (isolation) because everything is in its order and there is discipline that helps the
speaker feel in control (Plath 13,14,17). Imagery in the Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd helps
reinforce the speaker s view that love is unrealistic. The imager of flowers do fade portrays how
the gifts that the shepherd offers the nymph only last for a short period of time. The gifts are a
symbol of the shepherd s love, therefore the shepherd s love will also fade. The promise of love is
unrealistic because the shepherd believes that love materialistic, which makes the shepherd s love
unrealistic because as a young man, the shepherd himself
How Did The Inca s Ability To Overcome Natural Disasters
To understand the capabilities of the Inca to overcome natural disasters they had learn from their
ancestors and civilizations that came before them. The earlier civilizations fought with the climate
and the ability to prosper in the coastal and mountain areas until they were able to find a way to
prosper through agriculture and through high altitude levels, droughts, earthquakes and other
disasters. The IncaEmpire were able to adapt to climate changes, build an empire, and communicate
with its empire that stretched from parts in Chile to the Northern equator. Their ability to
overcome challenges that they encountered and work with the environment to benefit them was
extraordinary. The most notable civilization that came before the Inca and is rumored that the
people from that civilization went to Cusco after their band disappeared, where the Tiwanaku.
They lived along lake Titicaca and were able to create an agro pastoral empire using suka kullas,
to grow food and raise fish. Doing this, they were able to create a food surplus. However, some
scholars believe that the Empire disappeared due to a drought meaning they might have run out of
food similarly to the Aztecs during the famine of one rabbit. Another notable civilization that came
before the Tiwanaku was the Chavins, who created drainage systems for glacier melts. The Chavins

The Inca Empire, similar to the Tiwanaku, was able to create a food surplus and used storage
houses to store them. Once an Ayllu became apart of the Empire they were able to take what was
needed from the storage houses, but they had to participate in the Mita and Mitmaq, forms of labor
and draft system were people were used as warriors or public works in the communities. This
system was able to help create the roads and suspension bridges needed for communication and

Argumentative Synthesis Of President Obama

Argumentative Synthesis

President Barack Hussein Obama was the forty fourth president elected into office in 2008 and the
first United States president, under the constitution, of African descent. He has worked his way up
from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate then officially sworn in as president on January 20,
2009. Considering his background in politics, logically, he should be a responsible, trustworthy
candidate for president yet that does not stand for his mentality of how to run a country. He has
portrayed himself as a person of significance by supporting the same sex marriage law, preventing
the unnecessary travel of oil and petroleum, and fighting for paid leave for company employees;
nevertheless, he has caused grief to appear in the families of war participants. Conversely, pre
presidency, Obama promised to end the war of American troops fighting in Afghanistan in the year
2014, he promised to direct revenues from oil drills to increase coastal protection, he also promised
to become a person who unites the American people; however, has this so called president kept any
of those promises or have they long been abandoned? As Barack Obama s second term comes to an
end, it is apparent that Obama is one of the most hypocritical presidents in American history.

On Friday, November 6, 2015, President Obama refused an agreement with a Canadian oil company
about building the Keystone XL oil
Training Employees On Hazardous Materials. Hazardous...
Training Employees on Hazardous Materials Hazardous materials are a very important part of our
environment and workplace. They can cause environmental issues or they could even cause hurt to
humans and animals. However, HAZMAT is needed for production in some workplaces. There are
many businesses that do not train their employees properly or not at all on hazardous materials.
Anyone transferring, using, touching, or working with hazardous materials should be trained so
they know what to do in case of a serious incident. Not even that, it is just important to know what
kind of hazardous material they are transporting. There are a lot of safetyincidents in workplaces that
are mainly caused by improper training or not having training at... Show more content on

p.).
There were 14 employees who did not have any training on HAZMAT. There is also another
incident that states a company failed to properly train their employees on how to properly
package and label HAZMAT product which caused acceptance of cargo on an airplane that should
have not been accepted. These are just a couple of incidents that discussed in this press release. If
those employees would have been trained, there may not have been a safety incident that caused
fines to these companies. The worst part is, is the employees had no idea what to do in any of these
incidents. They could have been hurt or even caused harm against others and it would not have
necessarily been their fault. One way to reduce these incidents is risk management. Risk
management is a program to reduce risks in a business in any way possible by forecasting and
evaluating. According to the US Department of Transportation, the Hazardous Materials Safety
Program is, designed to reduce the probability and quantity of hazardous material released and
mitigate release consequences (DOT, 1998, p. 4). This program gives guidelines as well as
consequences. It gives ideas for future and how to plan for an incident. This guideline also gives
ideas of developing the risks and how safe can you be and is there any other plans to use to become
safer. It is always a good idea to be as safe as possible and you can never be safe enough.
