Star Of Life
I have been asked, if you real think that the Star of Life s history comes from the stories in the
Bible, then where did they get the ideas for the meanings of the stars points from the Bible as
well? My answer is a great big YES I think that they were reading the Bible when they came up
with the Star of Life and each of the star s arms or points meaning as well. You see the star s arms
mean the following: Detection, Reporting, Response, On Scene Care, Care in Transport and
Transfer to Definitive Care and they are all truly integral parts of the whole story we find in Luke
10:25 38.
Luke 10:30 37 let s read it together, I have pointed out the six points and the EMS functions

robbers? 37 The one who treated him kindly, the religion scholar responded. Jesus said, Go and do
the same. (MSG) I cannot speak for you, but wow that statement Go and do the same. Is one of
the reasons that I have stayed active in EMS for so long. I like to call this story we just read the
first ever recorded EMS system. This story takes us from seeing an assault happen, to bystanders
standing around and not doing anything to the Medical Responder just happen to be walking by
and decides to stop and help which would be him arriving on scene, treating and packaging the
patient for transport, transporting the patient to the closest appropriate facility of his day, and then
doing his paper work and even paying for the billing. You and I know this story as the Good
Samaritan and it is the foundation of most states Good Samaritan Laws. I have enjoyed this
assignment. It reminded me that what started as a word study on the word HEART back in 1988
while in my first year in college has turned into a lifelong passion to read, to understand and to then

Starbucks s Pizza, Acclimatizes, And Menu Offerings Based...
In the global marketplace, franchises must accommodate to the demographic of countries to meet
their cultural needs. Specifically, Domino s Pizza, acclimatizes and adapts their restaurants and
menu offerings based on their global locations. Domino s has worked on expanding in hundreds
of new locations worldwide and has done an effort to improve their menus to succeed over their
rivals. As a result of its efforts, Domino s Pizza has become the second world leader in pizza sales.
After analyzing Domino s market s in the United States, India, and Japan we can fully understand
how a global franchise must continuously adapt and grow in order to remain competitive and

In sharp contrast from the United States, pizza is viewed as a luxury meal in Japan therefore the
restaurants create a high scale environment and an extravagant food presentation for their customers.
With 364 stores, this luxury brand gained popularity through socio demographical changes in the
habits of its citizens. More women joining the workforce is increasing the desire for more ready to
eat dinners. Its sophistication is developed through the customers demand for high quality toppings,
like foie gras and snow crab, and valued aesthetics. Therefore, the prices raised and the consumption
is significantly lower in comparison to the United States.
From an organizational perspective, Domino s global restaurants adapt to the consumers cultures
and taste to meet the needs of every customer worldwide. For example, in Japan, market research
revealed that Japanese customer preferred raw sea food like raw fish, seaweed along with rice in
their pizzas. The Japanese had the option of choosing between American style pizzas and local
pizzas.
In addition to being cognisant of a country s religious tastes, Domino s does a great job
implementing promotional offerings when it is essential. For instance, an average consumer will eat
Domino s four times a year. Given this information, Domino s tried to boost consumption by
suggesting creative occasions to eat pizza. On Valentine s Day,
Bull Run History
Define the Subject

The First Battle of Bull Run, also known as First Manassas, was the first major battle of the Civil
War. It took place in Virginia near the city of Manassas on July 21, 1861. The Confederate Army
won the battle with the retreat of the Union Army back to Washington.

At the beginning of the battle, it appeared that the numbers advantage McDowell had was a key
factor that would secure a Union victory. Union Major General Robert Patterson and his 18,000
men were to support the operation by preventing Brigadier General Joseph Johnston s unit of 12,000
Confederate troops from reinforcing Beauregard. Patterson failed in this endeavor. Johnston s 12,000
Confederate soldiers arrived at the First Battle of Bull Run by way of railroad and swiftly changed
the course of the battle.

This operation hinged on Beauregard s lack of reinforcements, and Patterson s failure was endemic
of the shortcomings in the implementation of a strategy that involved several moving pieces.
McDowell s forces were not trained well enough to maintain proper command and control throughout
the operation. Beauregard s force was equally untrained; however, he had superior interior lines.
While Patterson s exhausted men moved slowly, Johnston could use the Manassas Gap Railroad to

Why Math Is Important To Me Essay
Math is one of those subjects that we tend to find the least accessible and the least applicable to
our lives. After all, who is ever going to need to use Fermat s Little Theorem or the Fundamental
Theorem of Arithmetic in their everyday life besides a handful of individuals? The easiest answer
to this prompt, then, is to say that math is going to influence the ways I create and craft budgets in
my production management career. However, that answer is no more interesting that saying that
knowing how to add helps you pay your bills every week. Perhaps the best answer to this prompt is
not in what math can do for me on a practical level, but rather it is in what math can help illuminate
for me. When I started this course, I believed math to be the essential foundation for our everyday
activities (and that is still true). But as this course ends, I have come to understand math as more
than just how to encrypt information online securely.
Math has the ability to shape how we perceive and understand the complex machinery of the world.
It makes it simpler, certainly, but it also makes us wonder about how intricate and expansive parts of
our lives are. Think about a concept like infinity an idea I spoke briefly about in my exam, but which
I want to come back to here. I use the word everyday in my life, rarely mathematically, but often as
an abstract notion. After our lesson on infinity, I found myself thinking deeply about what it means
for something to be infinite. Not just in a
The Seasons and What They Mean in Japanese Culture
In Noh there are many things that are significant, and that have deeper meanings. For instance the
simple way that they walk, sing, and move all mean something more. While doing the presentations
on a Noh play I noticed something beautiful about the play that I had chosen. Spring was mentioned
a lot, it had many cameos in the play. In Yuya the entire back story of the play is the discussions of
going to see the cherryblossoms. Spring in Japan means a whole lot more than just another
season. It means new life, and new beginnings, a way for family to come together and start anew.
So while taking this course I really picked up on the seasonal aspect of Noh whether it be spring,
autumn, summer, or winter. Each setting gave a new feeling of how people reacted, and it s true
in real life also. So in this essay I will be discussing all of the seasons and what they mean in
Japanese culture, with some symbolic things and Noh examples also. Spring also known as haru is
the first of four seasons in Japan, from March to May. The significance of the cherry blossomtree in
Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the
simplicity and the beauty of life. It just shows that even though life is sometimes wonderful and
beautiful, it can also be very short and to always remember that we only have so long. When the
cherry blossom trees bloom for a short time each year, they show that very well since they are so
beautiful but
Relationships In Oedipus Rex And The Importance Of Being...
The relationship between a parent and a child is very important. It is critical to the health and well
being of the child and the overall happiness of the family. Most parent and child relationships
follow the same prototype of the parent caring for the child. This continues until they are able to
take care of themselves and even after it ends, love and support is still shown from the parent.
However, the parent and child relationships in OedipusRex and the Importance of Being Earnest
differ from this common theme. The relationships seen in these plays are complicated and
oppressive. From the surface, Lady Bracknell and Gwendolen seem to have a typical mother
daughter relationship. But as the play progresses we see that this is not at all the case. Lady
Bracknell is a narrow minded and authoritarian type mother. Because of this she is very protective
when it comes to her daughter. She believes that since she married well, her daughter deserves the
same. Her idea of marriageincludes the attainment of social security and property. In her mind it
has nothing to do with love or passion. Gwendolen, however, wants to make her own decisions
and live her life as she pleases, not having to worry about whether or not her mother will approve.
She is intellectual sophisticated, and cosmopolitan. The overprotectiveness from her mother is first
seen when list of eligible men are mentioned. This list is composed by Lady Bracknell herself and
includes the names of all the men who she believes are good and worthy enough to be with her
daughter. With this list is a set of interview questions about a variety of topics ranging from his
smoking habits to his familyorigins. This is her way of manipulating the situation and getting it to
turn out the way that she wants it to. Lady Bracknell was born into the lower class but was a
social climber who was determined on marrying into the aristocracy, which is exactly what she
did. She wants her daughter to be able to do the same. She even goes as far as to tell Gwendolen
that she is not engaged until her mother or father informs her that she is. Even after all this pressure
and control coming from her mother Gwendolen decides to rebel. Gwendolen is sure she wants to
marry the man

After dispensing with several items on the agenda, the group turns to the third quarter customer

A Film Analysis Of The Film Slumdog Millionaire
Films from all around the world are filled with life lessons and meaning. They are not only created
for entertainment, but sometimes to portray specific morals. This way, they can be enjoyable, in
addition to being informative with long lasting effects. Some small things tend to go unnoticed
while watching, but when they are seen and analyzed, they can have the greatest impact. The
movie Slumdog Millionaire is filled with major social issues, ethics and morals. It has specific
goals and purposes for viewers to grasp and think about further. The film depicts a major social
issue: economic inequality and power; some of the most prominent examples are the divisions
caused by wealth and power, the fact that money does not fix all problems, the tendencies and
opportunities of the wealthy, and what extremes people will do for money. From the beginning,
there were scenes that showed the atrocities and conditions of the Mumbai slums in which the
brothers Jamal and Salim lived. It gives the idea that this is the harsh reality of every part of that
area, until a mansion owned by the gangster, Javed, is shown. (Slumdog Millionaire, 01:12:00
01:13:40). The gap in wealth is immense and creates a division between the people. We all know
there are the wealthy and non wealthy, but this film allows you to really visualize it for yourself.
People from the slums and owners of mansions are in an entirely different world. This film has the
opportunity to spread awareness to more fortunate
As An Audience That Enjoys Media Entertainment, We Find
As an audience that enjoys media entertainment, we find ourselves glued to the television every
year to see what commercials will appear during the Super Bowl. Last year s Super Bowl featured
various commercials that target particular audiences requiring a great deal of planning and
meticulous execution. Thus, audiences that enjoy these commercials become part of more than just
the game; they are given an opportunity to become part of a bigger picture by analyzing what
message the composer is attempting to persuade to the public. As I reflect on these commercials, I
want to understand what is being communicated to me to persuade me to act to buy a product. To

By utilizing the The Blue Link Car Finder (knmilke, par. 1), the father tracked his vehicle and
interjected himself into the picture; interfering with his daughter s date and intimidating the young
man. From a parent s perspective, I perceived the message to be about keeping your children out
of harm s way. If Hyundai s commercial is successful, it will entice parents to buy the car so that
they will know where their children are and if they are safe.
For this commercial, the target audience is parents. The Hyundai commercial uses comedy to
show parents how a car finder is a great tool for parents to know the whereabouts of their young
teens. It will give them a sense of security when their children are out and about with friends or on
dates. It could also help find the car if it is stolen.
While the message and target audience seem clear, there are a few additional things that you can
make assumptions about. At the beginning of the commercial: the boy s eyes get big as he is
looking at the daughter, indicating that he feels like he hit the jackpot; when the father comes from
behind the door, the boy turns his head and says YEP, indicating that he has no respect for the
father or where he lives; also, you hear a wolf howl indicating that the young man is a predator
looking for an easy score. An additional assumption that can be made about the wolf howling leads
you to believe that maybe the

Depending on what your semen analysis reveals, the physicians at our Louisiana fertility centers

Antisperm antibody testing looks for antibodies that bind to sperm and reduce fertility.
Biochemical analysis of semen measures chemicals in the semen such as fructose.
Peroxidase staining is used to distinguish immature sperm from white blood cells which may

Semen culture screens for bacteria responsible for genital infections.
Semen fructose checks for the presence of fructose in the semen. If there is an absence of fructose,
then the vas deferens are blocked or the seminal vesicles are missing.
Vital staining of sperm determines the number of living and dead sperm in a
The Doctrine Of Jesus Christ
Perhaps thou shalt say: The man has brought upon himself his misery; therefore I will stay my
hand, and will not give unto him of my food that he may not suffer, for his punishments are
just...whosoever doeth this the same hath great cause to repent (The Book of Mormon Mosiah
4:16). This progressive quote promotes social welfare and an idea of charity and love that many
mainstream Republicans today do not support. Believe it or not, this is not a statement recently
made on some left wing political talk show, this is directly from the Gospelof JesusChrist. This
same message is echoed throughout all the books of scripture. The doctrine of Jesus Christ
teaches the principles of compassion, equality, forgiveness, tolerance, and most importantly love;
the political ideology that sides with these ideals is on the left. Stephen Colbert said, If this is
going to be a Christian nation that doesn t help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was
just as selfish as we are, or we ve got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and
serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don t want to do it. The teachings
of Jesus Christ do not contradict liberal beliefs, therefore we, as His disciples, should be more open
to non conservative political ideals. For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and
ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in (King James Version Matthew 25:35). This
verse emphasizes one of Christ s
Mary Meeker Biography Essay
Born in the early 1920 s, Mary Meeker s father saw great potential in his creative little girl. He
vowed to make sure she got to college, something which he had been unable to do. He fancied
himself a business man, so the family moved from place to place as he looked for the elusive perfect
opportunity. Every new school brought another IntelligenceTest and eventually Mary skipped a
grade. Mary s sister who was learning disabled was often mistreated by the Nuns at one of the
schools, causing Mary to turn away from her religion. Her mother did not see her talent or
creativity and was often mean and abusive toward her children. As a result of these events, and
recognizing that she and her sister were at different ends of a spectrum, Mary vowed to advocate
for the development of diverse intellectual abilities. Educationally, Mary more than fulfilled her
father s hopes as she gained a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, a Doctorate in Educational
Psychologyand continued with post graduate studies.
In a desperate need for teachers, California offered provisional teaching certificates to those with a
related degree, and Mary accepted. She was immediately assigned to students with severe
developmental delays. She didn t know how to teach them and there were no resources to draw
upon. Eventually she motivated the children s creativity by dancing and singing for much of the
school year. When Mary was re assigned, she got a Special Education Class and found that it had a
Personal Aspirations In Life
I have discovered in life that there are ways of getting almost anywhere you want to go, if you really
want to go. ― Langston Hughes

My dad died due to a heart attack on April 28, 2011. He did have a heart condition that did cause a
series of unfortunate events. Discovering that he was sick gave me the drive to go into the medical
field. So because of that, what I would consider the most important topic is likely different than the
someone sitting next to me. I find that is what makes every person unique. That topic is based off
my goals and aspirations in life, the long term goals, not the weekly or monthly goals. It is the goal I
will spend my entire life dedicating myself to that goal and aspiration, medicine.

Why is this your main goal? my peers and family members have asked before and I shorten the
actual real thought out answer to this question and just say to help people. Now, this may be a
factor in why I m actually going to school for the next 6+ years for, although it is not even the
start of it. When thinking about my experiences in life, I wouldn t think of myself as one of the
lucky ones, but I also wouldn t say I ve experienced catastrophic events either. I am simply
labeling myself as a strong young woman, and I ve kept that label for years now. The worst life
event I ve ever been through, has been losing a parent, my father. Joseph Michael Rosales; father,
son, and brother... from a young age I knew he was sick, but I didn t entirely understand
Summary Of Tradition By Tobias Wolff
The community seems annoyed and bored towards the tradition. It seems like the tradition has
become meaningless because of the way the villagers react. They sometimes seem numb but other
times scared and nervous of what is happening. However, they do not stop practicing the tradition
nor rebel against it 3 The fact that the writer has chosen to tell the story from a nonparticipant
point of view makes the end more powerful. As readers, we don t know how the villagers feel but
we just sense tension and weird attitudes of what is happening. The third person point of view
creates a greater impact to the end of the story because it does not tell us what the people are really
thinking or feeling. Also, the narrator sometimes has an omniscient point of view to give the reader
small but important details.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Religious orthodoxy practices their beliefs in a specific way that they believe in. However, I
think in the story there is an attack to how powerful traditions can be even in a small group of
people. When it no longer makes sense to a small town like this one why should they practice it?
Sometimes traditions stop making sense as time goes by. We change and times change and
traditions can become meaningless to those who did not live to see why the tradition started. In
this case, not all the villagers seem to be fine with the tradition. As a matter of fact, some villagers
say a couple of times that other towns have already stopped practicing it. I believe the story claims
that if the tradition served for a specific purpose that is no longer worth it or necessary it should be
abolished. For religious orthodoxy is different, they know the history behind there traditions and
respect those who sacrificed for
