Auschwitz
Most people might wonder what Auschwitz Birkenau is or was. In examining Auschwitz by looking
at what it was, the events and happenings at Auschwitz, who was involved in and a personal story
one might gain a better understanding of Auschwitz. Auschwitz Is the most famous concentration
camp because it was the worst of all.
What is a camp Auschwitz? Auschwitz was a place in Poland near the city of Oswiecim. The
Auschwitz complex was divided in three major camps: Auschwitz I main camp or Stammlager;
Auschwitz II, or Birkenau, established on October 8th, 1941 as a Vernichtungslager ( also known as
an extermination camp); Auschwitz III or Monowitz, established on May 31th, ... Show more content

away they were stored in a large warehouse in a selection of Birkenau nicknamed Canada because it
was a place of abundance. Every person that entered auschwitz was tattooed with a number and their
name taken away. In the auschwitz concentration camp they used the prisoners as test subjects and

Speech On Asparagus
Let us unveil the taste of amazing asparagus

Asparagus is one amazing vegetable which has a very unique taste which can be used as a side
dish and people who are health conscious can even take it as a snack. Here one is bound to think
about the taste of an asparagus which is again a mystery as some say it tastes like Broccoli
whereas other find the taste similar to that of beans. Broccoli, spinach, carrots and cucumber
straightaway come to your mind whenever one thinks about vegetables. This is the exact reason
why the taste of asparagus is pretty alien to most of the people. Asparagus is a core part of weight
loss diets and even meals those are home cooked. So what are you guys waiting for? Let us

Various benefits that asparagus has:

Asparagus is very high in nutritional value and thus should be part of one s daily diet chart. When
you take a small cup of asparagus it can fulfill about 70% of ones daily intake of vitamin K. Further
the nutrients within it lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

It helps in digestion as it has high fiber content and it controls the levels of blood sugar. It flushes
out toxins and neutralizes all the harmful effects of free radicals and thus the cells in the body
remain healthy.

Due to high fiber content it keeps your tummy full and helps you in achieving your fitness goals as
fiber takes time to digest and asparagus has loads of soluble and insoluble fiber.

Beta Theta Pi Persuasive Speech
Every year or so, we lose another young, healthy, and ambitious life of a young college man to
hazing at one of our nation s social fraternities. With each new death, our society responds to the
instance in ways that that are so ritualized, that it s as if we are completing the other half of the
same hazing that killed the young man in the first place. It s a never ending cycle, Timothy Piazza,
age 19, Beta Theta Pi, Pennsylvania State University, died: February 4th, 2017. Piazza died after he
had been given 18 alcoholic drinks in less than 90 minutes as a part of a brutal hazing ritual at his
fraternity. Consequently, Piazza fell down a flight of stairs and his fraternity brothers eventually
picked him up and put him on a couch. What they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Well, you first have to go through rush and talk to tons of guys as they judge whether you re a
good fit for their fraternity. Basically, brothers are looking to see if you add anything to their
fraternities reputation. Will you make them look better, or worse? If a fraternity decides you
represent their ideals, they will extend you a bid. This doesn t make you a brother because you
first have to be initiated, but that won t happen until months after you receive your bid. In the
meantime, you will be given a multitude of tasks to complete in order to prove that you belong in
that fraternity. Fraternities use hazing as a means of filtering out new members who are not
willing to endure the same things that their brothers before them have. Becoming an honorary
member of a fraternity is not as simple as receiving a bid card. A bid is an invitation to willingly
be put through hell just so you can wear their letters. By completing perilous tasks that are seen as
tradition and a rite of passage , pledges are inadvertently saying they re willing to endure and go
under incredible difficulties to be a member, which shows loyalty, but at what cost? Putting
yourself in grave danger all for the sake of being in a top fraternity. The thing is, fraternities need
new members to exist and one would think that intense hazing would drive members away; And so,
some decide it s not for them, but the ones that stick around clearly want to be a member of that
specific fraternity so badly they ll do absolutely whatever it takes to become a member, even if it
means potentially putting their lives at
Essay on Firefly Lab Report
The effect of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) on bioluminescence in fireflies.

Introduction

Adenosine triphosphate, also known as ATP, is the supply of energy found in every cell that we
need in order to do essentially everything (Anonymous, 2008). It is an energy source for biochemical
reactions such as muscle contraction, active transport, molecular synthesis, and in fireflies, also
known as lightening bugs, bioluminescence (Biology Book). Bioluminescence is the process in
which living organisms convert chemical energy into light (Branchini, 2008). In the fireflies case the
reaction involves the enzyme luciferase which lights up a lantern like mechanism under the tip the
wings and attached to the end of the body of the firefly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

At station 3, the control Petri dish was left alone and the experimental Petri dish was heated in a
hot water bath for 60 second using a clamp to hold it in place. The experimental Petri dish was
removed from the hot water bath. Two drops of ATP solution was added with a pipette to both the
control and the experimental Petri dish. Results were recorded. At station 4 a pipette was used to
add two drops of ATP to both the experimental and controlled Petri dishes. The pipette was used to
deliver several drops of sodium chloride solution to the experimental Petri dish. Results were
observed and recorded.

Results In station 1 when the acid was added to the experimental Petri dish the bioluminescence of
the powdered firefly lantern started to dim and once the base was added the lantern began to
brighten up again. The controlled Petri dish remained bright during all four of the experiments.
The results are as shown in Table 1. In station 2 after the experimental Petri dish was taken out of
the fridge and ATP was added the powdered firefly lantern did glow but at a very dim level. The
results are as shown in Table 1. In station 3 after the experimental Petri dish was taken out of the
hot water bath and two drops of ATP were added no bioluminescence reaction occurred at all in the

There are actions customers can take to make sure the salon they will be getting their nails done
at will be a clean and safe place for them. Dr. David A. Johnson talked with Daryl Nelson and
made the statement that no one should accept on blind trust that a business is taking the
necessary steps to prevent transmission of blood borne infections such as hepatitis. Clients can
ask for SDS s, cleaning logs, and see licenses of nail technicians to check by themselves to see if
the surrounding areas look right and if they feel comfortable with the steps the salon has taken to
guarantee their safety. When walking into a salon and before even asking salon owners or nail
technicians about their safety and cleanliness, Nelson gives the advice of checking their
surroundings quickly to see if it appears clean. By checking their surroundings, individuals will be
able to see if floors, ceilings, and walls are clean and if by chance they aren t, the rest of the salon
most likely won t be much cleaner, giving a warning sign to that customer. When getting a
pedicure, there are multiple actions customers can do to make certain they ll be well cared for and
safe. Having a liner in the foot basin can really safeguard from bacteria from prior uses, but if the
salon doesn t use tub liners, then you can opt out of the water and have a dry pedicure instead

Shutter Island, by Dennis Lehane and The Yellow...
Gothic tales are known for being mysterious and gloomy. Certain elements are integrated throughout
the narrative to create the desired effect, and simultaneously suggest other ideas. Shutter Island by
Dennis Lehane and The Yellow Wall Paper by Charlotte Perkins Stetson are significantly similar, by
the way both settings highlight the idea of madness. The relationship between setting and madness is
induced by the display of physical isolation, disturbing elements, and hallucinatory incidents. To
begin, with intent of initiating mystery in gothic stories, the locale is often portrayed as being
physically isolated, triggering insanity in the characters. This idea can be demonstrated by the
seclusion of the institution for the criminally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, as the patients in Shutter Island are cut off from society and merely exposed to criminally
insane people, it is hard for them to come back to a state of sanity. Briefly, physical isolation of
the locale in gothic literature finds its way into establishing madness, nevertheless, additional
disturbing elements impact on insanity as well. Just in the same way as isolation affects the
mental state of characters, disturbing elements in their surroundings can lead to this outcome in
the narrative. In Stetson s short story, the description of the room indicates that the windows are
barred [...] and there are rings and things in the wall (250). Additionally, the wallpaper is stripped
off in great patches all around the head of [her] bed, about as far as [she] can reach, and in a great
place on the other side of the room low down (251). These details symbolize how troubling the
environment is for Charlotte as she expresses antipathy, especially about the wallpaper by
pointing out that [she] never saw a worse paper in [her] life (251). In contrast, Lehane depicts
guards using a powerful hose to calm the agitated patients: the guards [got] the hose working and
fired a blast, blew the guy off the bars, pushed him across the floor (231). The hose is used as a
tool to tranquilize critical situations in Shutter Island, however, as some men [...] moaned, moans so
deep and abandoned they could have come from a battlefield (231)
The Physics Of Aerospace Engineering Essay
1.Loren told me that he has enjoyed problem solving since he was very young. Growing up he
knew he wanted to go into engineering but wasn t completely sure which type he would enjoy the
most. He was most interested in outer space and also cars and design. After his acceptance to
Purdue, he turned to several upperclassmen for advice and their knowledge of the Engineering
school and the programs. They told him about Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and how
similar they were. After some thought, he decided that in aerospace engineering because of his
interest in outer space. 2.Loren said that at this point, all of his upper classes are small and have
lectures. Also some of the classes have accompanying lab sections. For example, Loren stated We
might have an aerodynamics class and then a separate class which is a lab that reinforces what we
learn in the aerodynamics class. He also told me that students lean the fundamentals of aerospace,
propulsion, and controls (computer guidance systems, ex: planes that can land themselves).
3.When talking about his favorite class, Loren told me about AAE 20400 Mechanics of Materials.
This was his first class about structures. He told me that it has proven to be very useful in all of his
major specific classes. He also expressed that the professor had been the best professor that he s had
during his time at Purdue in terms of explaining information. He was also genuinely interested in the
material that the course had to offer. 4.
Chlorine Essay In Chemistry
Chlorine is used for many useful purposes in the world of medicine. For this reason, it is important
to understand what chlorine is and how it works at the atomic level. The first notable piece of
information taken from Figure 1 is the shells of the model. Each shell can be thought of as an orbit
around an atoms nucleus. The shells, from the inside out, are labeled as the 1 shell, 2 shell and 3
shell. They can also be called K shell, L shell and M shell, respectively. The first most important
piece of information taken from Figure 1 are the shells. Each shell has a fixed number of electrons
that it can hold. 1 shell can hold up to two electrons, 2 shell can hold up to eight electrons and 3
shell can hold up to 18 electrons. The number of shells... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second most important piece of information taken from Figure 1 is the number of protons in the
model. The number of protons corresponds to the atomic number, which can be found on the
Periodic Table. Chlorine has a total of 17 protons, so there are 17 protons drawn on the Bohr
model. From the inside out, the number of electrons drawn on each shell are 2, 8 and 7. The third
piece of information taken from Figure 1 is that Chlorine has a total of 18 electrons. This means that
there is one more electron than there is protons. Because of this, chlorine becomes a negatively
charged atom. Chlorine desperately wants another electron to fill its outer shell, so it bonds very
nicely with atoms in which it can share an electron with. Chlorine has the ability to create many
ions because of its need for another electron to become stable. The molecular structure of chlorine is
important to understand. The Bohr model of chlorine helps to understand why chlorine reacts the
way it does with other elements. Without the knowledge of what chlorine can work with and what
it cannot, it is now possible to create medications in order to treat medical disorders. Knowing the
facts of the molecular structure take away guess work and thus speed up the process of medical

Illegal Immigration, the Drain on the U.S. Economy

The amount of money that comes out of your pocket for schooling, incarceration, jobs lost, and
maintaining the medical system in the United States because of illegal immigrants may be more than
people know. During the past few decades, the influx of illegal immigrants has risen dramatically.
Illegal immigrants put a huge strain on our school systems, commit a disproportionate amount of
crimes in this country and have taken many jobs that American citizens unemployed could do. The
economic drain on the school systems is growing rapidly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is stated by many politicians that the illegals only take the jobs that American citizens do not
want. With the guest worker program and the use of H 1B visas, businesses use these workers at
a significant lower rate of pay than they would have to pay a citizen. The number of H 1B visas
issued in 1992 was estimated at less than 100,000. By 2002 the number climbed to over 1 million
(Wagner, 2007). This abuse of the working visa is absolutely legal by any company looking for
workers that are not citizens. The big business corporations are not looking to change this law as
they would be out of pocket a great deal more money in wages. Every single person in the United
States will be touched by the effects of illegals in this country at some point in their life. It may
come in the form of a grocery bill, auto insurance, property taxes, driver s license fees, hospital
rates or many other areas. In the area of healthcare, the influx of illegals has proven to put a huge
burden in all areas of the system. In California over the last decade many hospitals and emergency
rooms have closed due to the illegals being treated there and not being able to pay the bills from
the hospital. Right now, California out of the 50 states is last in the number of emergency rooms
per million people (Jones, 2012, #6.). The insurance premiums for citizens keep increasing because

Sleep Deprivation In Teenagers
There are many problems in the world that have yet to be resolved however a major one is sleep
deprivation in teenagers. Sleep deprivation affects everyone greatly but not as bad as teenagers.
Sleep deprivation even though it is a problem itself also creates smaller problems that need to be
resolved first. One significant problems is economical.
One economic problem in sleep deprivation is problems with accidents caused by sleep deprivation.
One example of this is in the article Students Aren t Getting Enough Sleep School Starts Too
Early from The Atlantic by Jessica Layhey, For example, an important recent study published this
spring by Dr. Kyla Wahlstrom documented the positive effects of school start time delay in over
9000 students from eight high schools in three states, including improved grades and standardized
test scores and up to a 65 to 70 percent reduction in teen car accidents. This can show how a
reduction in car accidents can lower the amount of money that is spent on things like repairs,
medical treatment etc. Sleep deprivation can possibly lead to alcohol and drug abuse as stated in
the Huffington Post article 5 Scary Health Effects Of Sleep Deprivation During The Teen Years
which can lead to car accidents which can go on their record possibly making it harder to get jobs in
the future.
Another economic problem in sleep deprivation is health issues caused by it. An example of this is
from the Huffington Post article by Carolyn Gregoire, 5

When they enter the room silence is all that is left to hear from the outside. No one has ever

Before the conference was even planned, San Martin wrote to Bolivar, stating that the two of
them must join forces if the struggle for independence was to succeed. (Simon Bolivar and Sam

failed to meet eyes and agree on how they wanted to liberate Peru. The flamboyant and self
assertive Bolívar stood in sharp contrast to the reflective and self effacing San Martín. Bolívar
wished to accomplish the liberation of Peru himself in spite of San Martín s previous efforts
there, and as a republican, he rejected San Martín s contention that the disruptive political
factions in Peru would be best contained for the national good by a monarch. There isn t a record
of the Guayaquil conversations, except for a few details that were given in subsequent
correspondence between the two men. Apparently, San Martín offered to serve under Bolívar s
command, but Bolívar seemed to be unwilling to share the task of liberation. The result was that
San Martín retired from active service in the wars of liberation and from the political imbroglio in
Peru, and Bolívar s forces delivered the final blow to the Spanish colonial regime in South America
at the Battle of Ayacucho two years later. What is still unknown from this event is why San Martin

Examples Of Power Craze In Macbeth
Power craze occurs many times in Shakespeare s Macbeth. The female characters are excited to
have power. Lady Macbeth for instance, has to seek power through Macbeth because women weren
t given strong leadership roles back then. The witches also helped with the plot by making Macbeth
excited to murder Duncan and become king himself. Shakespeare uses Macbethto show the audience
his views on power with women. Lady Macbeth is an example of the feminism. Lady Macbeth
puts herself with power by actually going through with her decision to murder Duncan. Lady
Macbeth makes sure that she can persuade Macbeth to kill Duncan for her. In order to do this, she
can t act very feminine like to put herself into the leadership position. Come you spirits/ That tend
on mortal thoughts, unsex me here/ And fill me from the crown to the toe top full/ Of direst cruelty.

When Macbeth starts feeling guilty about murdering Duncan, Lady Macbeth makes sure that he
doesn t feel that way anymore: When you durst do it, then you were a man;/ And to be more than
what you were, you would/ Be so much more the man (Shakespeare I. 49 51). Lady Macbeth
threatens Macbeth s manliness by saying he was manly, but now he isn t because he feels guilty.
Lady Macbeth then states that she would kill her own child if she promised someone to prove her
point even more. By saying this, she makes Macbeth sound weak and unmanly which makes her
feel more powerful. After that Macbeth quickly starts honoring Lady Macbeth. Shakespeare is
trying show us that Lady Macbeth is starting to become man like, and that she isn t acting very
feminine because leadership roles were only given to man. Since she is dominating Macbeth, she is
in the control of the mission which back then was very manly rather than
Teen Pregnancy And The Teenage Pregnancy Rates
Pregnancy and parenthood is a significantly life altering event that anyone could experience. These
two life events inquire not only physical but mental obstacles. What happens when these events
occur when your body is not physically developed and your mental maturity is not fully ripened?
This happens too often amongst the teen age population. In the United States, teen pregnancies are
the highest when compared to other developed countries. Teen births account for 10% of all births in
the United States. (NCHS) While the only way to solve this issue is to educate teens on prevention,
Hispanics continue to have the highest teen pregnancyrates because lack of financial resources, lack
of formal sexual education, and cultural beliefs.
With Hispanic teenagers accounting for over a quarter of teenage pregnancy there are many factors
affecting the Hispanic communities and families that cause these numbers to be so high. And at
53% of Hispanic females becoming pregnant at least once by the time they are 20 years old is an
extremely large percentage that causes the Hispanic populace to have the highest teenage pregnancy
rates in the country. Poverty is another root of teenage pregnancy among Hispanic youth. What has
been seen in history in the U.S. is the endless spiral that faces families that are in poverty. When one
young woman becomes pregnant her child if female has a 22% increased chance of becoming a
pregnant teenager herself. With this comes the possibility of
