Paralympics: The Need for More Worldwide Attention The Paralympics is an international multi
sporting event, which has a shortage of coverage in the media both internationally and in the United
States. People in all nations have a lack of understanding and knowledge about the Paralympics
being a globally recognized event. Usually the biggest events that are watched worldwide every four
years are either the winter and summer Olympic games or the World Cup. There is a lack of
excitement when it comes to the Paralympics. This may be due to the lack of coverage for the
Paralympics; it hinders the possibility of the making it a bigger and more recognizable event.
History of the Ancient Olympics
Participation
In the original Olympics the only participants allowed were free male Greek citizens (Guttman,
2010). According to the Official Website of the Olympic Movement (n.d.) it didn t matter what the
participants social status was, it depended more on their strength and skills. It is not known for
certain the age the participants started competing, but it is probable that the boys would have to had
some sort of athletic education before competing. Since the games were more based on skill and
strength the age didn t matter so much, but it is estimated that the youngest participant would be the
age of 12. In later years the Olympics would separate the participants by age groups: younger,
middle, and
Walmart, The Giant Utopia, By Sam Walton Essay
Walmart, the giant utopia, the place where a lot of people usually do their shopping for the low
prices and the variety of products was founded by Sam Walton. Walton was an entrepreneur a very
different and innovative vision than with what was the norm at the time. He started his own
company and made it into the leader in discount retailingthat it is today. In fact, Walmart is
considered to be the biggest company in the U.S. and it has stores worldwide. A lot of controversy
orbits this huge company, however. According to PBS, Walmart employs more people than any
other company in the United States outside of the Federal government, yet the majority of its
employees with children live below the poverty line. Also, Walmart likes to portray itself as a seller
of U.S. manufactured goods, but in reality the company has thousands of products contained in its
many stores throughout the U.S. made in foreign countries in sweatshops with horrible conditions
for their employees. It would seem that Walmart encourages made in the USA but is a flat out lie.
Walmart encourages products made outside the USA. This stubborn need for Walmart to outsource
in order to reap the benefits of cheap labor in poorer countries is really hurting the small businesses
of the United States and definitely takes its toll on our economy. It is for this reason the big giant is
facing a significant amount of controversy for unethical business practices.

The Rhino And Elephant Ivory Market
Abstract
As the economic growth in the world continues, Africa continues to lose its self proclaimed title as
the cradle of biodiverse ecosystems which house the mighty African elephant and rhinoceros
(otherwise known as the continental herd). Wildlands have been fragmented and forests cleared
continuously and at very rapid rates. Rising rates of affluence around the world, especially in Asia
has led to the intensity of the black market of the rhino and elephant ivory market which has seen the
deterioration of this vast and much needed component of the ecosystem.
Many governments within the continent, in conjunction with countless non profit private
institutions have proposed regulated hunting and laws against wildlife poaching. This legislation has
seen taxes and fees being generated into these states which have been set as capital for conservation
programs which have been both positive and negative. Where positivity has come, the restoration of
species has been remarkably recorded, for example the white rhino in Southern Africa In places
where these conservation programs are poorly managed, the benefits are much harder to prove,
especially in ecosystems where the populations have already been depleted.
This paper will ensue a descriptive knowledge of numbers and distribution of the elephant and
rhinoceros examining the changes in population. It will also site the methods, including framework
for improved forest governance, in which innovative, successful and lasting

I always write things that entertain me, and one of the things that I find really enjoyable to
explore is the idea of love. I like looking at my own life and my friends and family and how love

truth in her statement by writing a series that show loves between two different people. Stephanie

Presidential Election Winner
Presidential Election Winner
The 2016 presidential election was one of the most controversial elections to have ever faced the
American people. Both major political parties ran on completely opposite platforms which caused
the American people to be divided more than ever on policies and beliefs. In fact, the outcome of the
election took the media, the American people and the world by surprise. This only divided the
American people even further. The Democrats were certain that their candidate, Hillary Clinton,
was to be the winner over Donald Trump. History though proved everyone otherwise with the loss
of Hillary Clinton. Many analysts claim that the Democrats loss of the presidency was due to FBI
director, James Comey s letter, the media s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, from the very first day, Post ABC polling found that a majority of respondents didn t
think Trump was qualified to be president. (Bump). The problem is, that didn t keep people from
voting for him. In national exit polling conducted after the election, 6 in 10 voters said they didn t
think Trump was qualified to be president. And yet one fifth of those voters voted for him anyway.
This only reinforces the fact that Clinton was not able to connect with the typical Democratic
constituents. If nearly 1 in 5 voters accepted Clinton s core argument about Trump but voted for
him anyway then Clinton s campaign was in deep trouble before Comey did anything. Whether or
not Comey s letters was the deciding factor of the election isn t clear. What s clear is that Comey

Development of Suspense by Hitchcock in Psycho Essay
Development of Suspense by Hitchcock in Psycho

Psycho, the somewhat infamous film by Alfred Hitchcock was produced in 1961, a time when the
American censors, The Hays Office, still dominated the film industry with their strict rules and
principles. It earned its notoriety by defying the traditional cinematic convections of that time and
pushing the boundaries of what could be shown in mainstream cinema. The rules implemented by
The Hays Office were far stricter than they are today, and Hitchcock uses all available means to
reach and go slightly beyond the set limit. Using clever and different camera angles, he implies
things that are not shown. He proves that innuendoes can portray the ... Show more content on

In fact, a lot of horror films today still leave their leading ladies intact by the end of the film, e.g.
Scream. Whether it is actually Marion or her sister, who is the heroine, can then be debatable.

Abogast, the private detective who is hired to find Marion, but more importantly, find the stolen
$40,000, is also killed very soon after Marion. Once again, the audience gets surprised as it is
usually the detective who solves the mystery and presents it to the audience at the end of the film.
In this case however, Abogast is merely a stepping stone for Sam, Marion s boyfriend and Lila,
Marion s sister. He does the majority of the work and leaves enough clues for Lila and Sam to
continue his job.

The early deaths of the main characters shocked the audience enough to leave them mystified and at
the edge of their seats for the remainder of the film. Hitchcock had succeeded in creating suspense in
his film using a new and different convention that had never been tried before.

The early deaths concept wasn t the only technique Hitchcock used to develop the suspense in Psycho
. A more common but effective technique is also used; music. Not just any music either, but relevant
music. It is general knowledge that music can psychologically influence people s thoughts and
emotions.

and shows us how achebe appreciates the herbal medicine and understand how it works. He
shows us it working to give us a fell of what it s like. Achebe doesn t believe in and does not like
the medicine man. In the book, the medicine man comes when ekwefi s children keep dying. He

Martin Scorsese s Film, Taxi Driver Essay
Synopsis

Vietnam veteran Travis Bicklea finds that his life has been turned upside down after returning
America from the battle field. He suffers from the insomnia and sense of isolation, which leads him
to take a job as taxi driver at night; many of his customers represent the people from the lowest class
of society: prostitutes, adulterous husbands and wenchers. Since Travis has promised the cab
company that he will drive anywhere, at anytime, his likelihood of seeing the best of human nature
is fairly slim. So, he tries to create an extra occupational life for himself. He befriends Betsy, a
beautiful girl working at a Senator s campaign office. Unluckily, with on possession of the slightest

Especially in a scene where Bickle saves a man¡¯s life from a robbery where he gets away with
murder as the clerk would beat up the dead man¡¯s body. Though it might have seem gruesome at
the time, Scorsese doesn¡¯t pull back where he doesn¡¯t give any clear answer of Bickle, in the
terms of becoming normal. This is by far some top notch directing from one of NYC¡¯s greatest
visionaries.

In Taxi Driver, Scorsese manages his camera angles and editing to emphasize Travis seeing the
world through glass or mirrors, especially the windshield and rear view mirror of the taxi, through
which all major characters enter Taxi Driver: Betsy through the panes of an all glass office;
Palantine through his rear view mirror; and Iris and Sport in a fleeting glance in his mirror. As
Travis meets with a black market gun dealer, and in this scene the weapon literally becomes the
organ of perception. Scorsese situates his camera on Travis arm as that arm takes the weapon
and slowly pans it across the window looking down on the street below. Finally, in the scene
which has made Travis Bickle a cinematic icon ( Are you talking to me? ), Travis looks into his
mirror, challenges imaginary adversaries, and draws his various weapons in assault. The ambiguity
of the image is poignant: Travis looks into a mirror and makes a self destructive gesture
foreshadowing his attempted suicide at the climax of the film, and Travis peers through the looking

The Pros And Cons Of The Global Resource Dividend
Over last two decades a problem on human rights and poverty has been excessively debated.
Originally, it was provoked by Thomas Pogge, who claimed that people living in well being violate
human rights of people living in poverty by not helping them and being beneficiaries of global
institutional order. Consequently, affluent countries are responsible for reducing misery in the
world, because current global economic order disproportionately serves for humankind (Pogge 2005,
severe poverty). To be precise, wealthy countries are continuing to grow rich, while poor countries
are continuing to peter out.
To challenge this problem, Pogge proposes a moderate program so called The Global Resources
Dividend (GRD). This literature review is supposed to unveil advantages and disadvantages of the

Part II then proposes a specific understanding of what it means to violate human rights. I will argue
that a human rights violation involves non fulfillment of human rights as well as a specific causal
relation of human agents to such non fulfillment. Importantly, this understanding of a human rights
violation includes not only interactional violations (perpetrated directly by human agents) but also
institutional violations (caused by human agents through the imposition of institutional
arrangements). Based on the explication of the question in Parts I and II, Part III goes on to consider
some of the evidence relevant to answering the question. This evidence favors the conclusion that
there exists a supranational institutional regime that foreseeably and avoidably produces massive
human rights deficits. By collaboratively imposing this institutional scheme, we are indeed violating
the human rights of the world s
