Three Different Tribes, And Cultures In Early Africa
This essay introduces the reader to some of the different tribes, and cultures that resided in early
Africa. Three of the tribes that are explored in this paper are the Bantu, the Twa, and the Khoisan.
Two different cultures are also discussed in this paper. Them being the Nok, and the Kushite s. The
first tribe that is discussed is the Bantu tribe. The Bantu tribe originated around Nigeria. Because
they were nomadic people the eventually migrated to Uganda. The Bantu people were polytheistic.
The second tribe that is discussed is the Twa. They were a group of pygmies who were known to
have inhabited Rwanda. The third tribe that is discussed is the Khoisan s. This tribe were

The Twa were known as pygmies, which meant that the average height of the people in the tribe
was atypically short. The average height for a Twa man is five feet ( The Twa ). They are viewed
as the first tribe to tenant the regions around the great lakes in Central Africa. But the Twa were
known to have domination of the African country Rwanda ( The Twa ). The Twa people were
nomadic group. The Twa people are intertwined with many different cultures also. For example, it
is believed that the first god, and goddess that the Egyptians believed in who were called Ptah and
Bes were originally Twa ( Home ). Because the Twa people were nomadic they traveled and settled
down in many places. One of these places that the Twa people went to was Ireland. This is where
the legend of the leprechaun comes into play. When the Twa people traveled to Ireland they had
advanced knowledge on things like medicine which the Irish thought was magical ( Home ). It is
also believed that the people who St. Patrick chased out of Ireland were the Twa people. This is
because another name for the Twa people is Naga which translated to snake
The Nature Of The Buddhist s Claim Of Suffering
As a result of asceticism and hedonism being deemed irrational, Buddhism was born, the middle
way between the two. Siddhartha Gautama (later known as the Buddha) is the rishi (founder) of
Buddhism which is built on the doctrine that humans are forever burdened with suffering or
dukkha. The teachings of Buddha serve as a tool to overcome desire, which is the root of all
suffering. In this paper, the nature of the Buddhist s claim of suffering will be dissected and further
examined along with the idea of the noble eightfold path, otherwise known as the solution to all
suffering. Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince, sheltered from the outside world until he decided
to take matters into his own hands and ventured out into the real world.... Show more content on

To understand the noble eightfold path, one must recognize what the Buddhist claim of human
suffering is all about. In Buddhism there are three marks of existence: anatman, no self; anicca;
impermanence; and lastly dukkha; suffering. With these marks of existence in mind, it is believed
that the misunderstanding of anatman and anicca lead to dukkha. When an individual does not
understand there is no self, it is essentially detrimental to their life. Impermanence serves a big role
in Buddhism; however, it s a foreign concept to most individuals, hence their suffering. One has to
understand that nothing lasts forever and be at peace with it. When impermanence is not fully
understood desire arises from this plight. In the end, the goal becomes to terminate desire and to
end desire is to end suffering. Moving on to the noble eightfold path, now that dukkha has been
defined, the path is the solution to end all suffering. This path is not supposed to be an easy task as
it takes a lot of effort (the sixth of the eightfold path). In another aspect of Buddhism, the four noble
truths, the first truth states To live is to suffer. In other words it could be said that the eightfold path
defies what is understood by living. Perfect view, the first on the path, is accepting the four noble
truths and the three marks of existence.
What Was The Significance Of The Four Blood Moon
The Significance of the Four Blood Moons Throughout many years people have been trying to
predict the coming of Christ or even the apocalypse. The four blood moons is one of many
appearances they will and have tried to predict these events with. The blood moons are a
miraculous event created by God to remind us He is coming, and it represents major events in the
life of God s people. When this event occurs again don t be afraid. For the blood moons are there
even as a reminder to us that God is still in control. Many, many years have gone by since the last
set of four blood moons. An occurrence of four blood moons is extremely rare. The most recent set
of blood moons happened within the years of 2014 2015. This exact type is called... Show more

various ways, but don t believe them. Most will fall from the Word of God and will try to pull
you into the trap, but stand firm. The antichrist will come and do miraculous wonders on earth,
but don t believe him. When signs appear (blood moons or antichrist) you should be happy and in
good spirits. Your God is still there and is reminding you He is coming for you. Until this time
comes be thankful for the brothers and sisters I have provided for you. They are there to help you
and guide you through your life. So no matter what stand firm in God s Word, and thank Him that
He has chosen you to be His child. I believe that all that is said to happen in the Bible is going to
definitely be fulfilled. God does not tell us when it is set to happen, but we need to be ready. My
opinion is that the apostasy is going to occur first. The apostasy is when people will be falling
away from faith in Christ. This won t be small, but extremely large. According to my estimates the
event that will happen soon after is the antichrist will begin to show standing and action in the
world. The antichrist is someone who will be on earth claiming to be Christ. He will even be raised

William Shakespeare s Legacy
William Shakespeare born around april 26, 1564 was a man truly ahead of his time. He has
written many great plays and is known for not only writing for the rich but the poor as well. His
plays entertained the masses and have been around for over 400 years.
Despite Shakespeare s legacy little is actually known about him. The earliest record of
Shakespeare is on April 26, 1564 when he was baptized in Stratford. He was birthed by his parents
John Shakespeare and Mary Arden who were well respected people. William later attended Stratford
grammar school where he spent about 9 hours a day learning how to read and write.
After his early years were over William decided to settle down and marry Anne Hathaway. They
were married on November 28, 1582,
Breadwinner Perseverance Quotes
Over the mountains, in the city of Kabul in the marketplace, tea boys running around in the hot
sun selling gum, tea, and cigarettes. But in the corner next to a building there is a young boy
sitting on a blanket reading and writing letters. But what might think of an average boy, there is
actually a girl trying to help out her family. Parvana is that boy on the blanket. Perseverance is
defined as someone whom is going through a difficult time but manage to stay strong. In the
book, The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis, is about having hope even when times don t look so
good. The Breadwinner reveals how a girl, Parvana, shows perseverance throughout the story.
(Rylie) First of all, Parvana shows perseverance by agreeing to cut her hair and dress as a boy to
work and get food for her family. The book states, She took off her own clothes and put on her
brother s. Hossain s shalwar kameez was pale green, both the loose shirt and the baggy trousers.
This explains how Parvana demonstrates perseverance by showing that she cuts her hair, and
dresses in her brother s shalwar kameez to look and act like a boy. Parvana takes a risk and
transforms into a boy, so she can go work at the market to make money for her family.... Show more

Immanuel Kant Morality
Immanuel Kant argues that morality is based off of rationality. A maxim, or a moral code, that can
be universalized without falling apart would be considered rational and therefore morally just. Kant
urges us to make moral decisions using maxims that can be universalized, think about the act in and
of itself instead of the potential consequences, and also to never treat anyone as a means only, but
as an end. In making moral judgments that can only be universalized we are given a formula to
guide us. Not only does this protect against favoritism it also emphasizes rationality instead of
emotional preference. For example, using the maxim do not lie, society would have trust and
honesty and would flourish. Now using the opposite everyone lie, ... Show more content on

mean well, actually robs the child of pushing and strengthening him or herself to reach the side of

development. Kant again offers no resolution to when our duties do conflict. He argues that we must
act purely from whether the act in and of itself is moral, giving no thought to the
Comparison Of Impressionism In A Sunday Afternoon On The...
A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of the Grande Jatte, painted by Georges Seurat in 1884 6, and
La Grenouillère, by Claude Monet in 1869, are both works that are on display at the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, originally painted in France during the Impressionism period. These works are
recognized today for the modernity embodied in their impressionistic painting styles as well as their
depiction of leisure in modern life.
Impressionism is a way of painting which depicts objects using strokes and dabs of primary
unmixed colours in order to simulate reflections of light. This style of painting was completely
different and new at the time and both Seurat and Monet used these methods to become pivotal
impressionist artists in the early 1870s. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historically, prior to the nineteenth century people had very little leisure time. However, by the
1870s, working conditions were improving and everyone had Sunday off. It was now a time of
relaxation and activities such as boating, or going to dance halls and cafés. Seurat and Monet
began to paint these types of scenes and their characteristically loose painting styles
complemented the leisure activities they portrayed. La Grenouillère was a popular middle class
resort consisting of a spa, a boating establishment and a floating café. It was the perfect subject
for Monet to demonstrate the new way of leisure in the society at that time. Similarly, the Island
of the Grande Jatte was the site of a public garden in Paris, also a place for people to go and relax,
perhaps on a Sunday afternoon, since they had those days off. Both paintings combine the new
subject matter of leisure with the relaxed painting style of impressionism to create a whole new
category of modern art.
Seurat and Monet both approach the same ideas and concepts to create too very separate and unique
works that actually have a lot in common in subject matter as well as both historically and
stylistically. Overall, both paintings, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of the Grande Jatte by
Georges Seurat and La Grenouillère by Claude Monet, are excellent

General Instructions for All Written Assignments
Each week you will have a short written assignment. Though each assignment is slightly different,
this should serve as general instructions for all assignments.
Formatting: All assignments should be completed as Microsoft Word documents. They should be
between 2 and 3 pages and be double spaced with standard indentation. The font should be size 12,
Times New Roman. You should create a short title page including your name, the date, the
assignment title, and the instructor s name. The page limit does NOT include the title page or

+ Unsatisfactory (less than 14 points). The student does not know enough facts about the argument,
and does not use clear logic to support the facts they do know.
20 Points for Formatting
Formatting refers to the student s ability to communicate effectively within the paper. This refers
to grammar, proper formatting of the document, and syntax. A student also receives credit for
having the proper page length (2 3 pages). A paper with three or less mistakes will receive 15 19
points. A paper with multiple minor mistakes will receive anywhere between 10 14 points, while a
paper which is presented too poorly to be considered a college level paper will receive anywhere
from 0 13 points.
I cannot overemphasize the importance of formatting in the written assignments. Always make
certain to use spell checker and to reread your paper at least two times before submitting. You will
be amazed at the number of mistakes you will catch this way.
10 Points for Sources
Sources must be formatted properly in APA or MLA style. There is no set amount of sources
needed, but a student must remember that they should be able to back up each statement with a
reliable source. If you are using dates, statistics, or facts that are not common knowledge, it is
usually proper to use a citation. Also, the quality of sources will be graded. Remember, Wikipedia
and other open encyclopedias are NOT credible sources. Be careful what you cite!
The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things by...
Hieronymus Bosch created The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things around 1500. Bosch
made the tabletop painting with oil paint on wood panels; He created it in Brabant, which is
presently known as the Netherlands. Incredibly, this masterpiece was conceived as a piece of
furniture to adorn the bedroom in King Philip s Escorial palace. The Seven Deadly Sinsand the Four
Last Things enlightened people about sins and stopped many from committing wrongdoings by
instilling fear in people; It stopped people in their tracks and brought ethics to attention. Hieronymus
Bosch masterfully applies symbolism and literalism to illuminate the seven deadly sins and the
process of death.
Hieronymus Bosch, was born in Brabant, now known as the Netherlands, around 1450. He was a
northern European painter of the late Middle Ages, and is considered to be mysterious and
elusive in history. His inspiration to become an artist began because his father, brother and uncles
were painters, and therefore it is believed he was trained, or mentored, by a relative growing up.
He may have been influenced by his religious group for a period time, because a majority of his art
had religious themes. In 1488 he joined the highly esteemed Brotherhood of Our Lady, an arch
conservative religious group of around 40 influential citizens of Hertogenbosch, and 7,000 outer
members from around Europe.
Religion heavily influenced his style because of his Catholic beliefs, and a majority of his works

From 2007 to 2012 USPS posted net losses in excess of $41 billion with much of that driven by
fuel costs. It currently spends $3.3 billion on highway contracts, while spending only $40 million on
freight rail contracts. USPS should consider shifting part of its mail volume to rail. By making this
change it has been estimated that USPS could save at least $100 million per year. Additionally,
because of its lesser sensitivity to fuel price increases and greater control of its own infrastructure,
rail transportation has major, long term strategic advantages over highway (Berman, 2012).
Total Quality Management Total Quality Management (TQM) is an organizational approach that
seeks to identify and eliminate the root causes of issues that undermine quality whether in a
manufacturing or service organization. As stated previously USPS as a product is in a state of
decline and must find ways to eliminate barriers to attaining its service commitments. Package
delivery is a sector of its market in which it has remained competitive with private carriers such as
UPS and FedEX. To continue to compete and excel in the package delivery arena USPS must insure
that it eliminates barriers to meeting and or exceeding on time delivery expectations. Therefore, I
would suggest the use of control charts to determine the cause of packages being delivered outside

A class struggle between two economic divisions is not just about the distinction and conflict but
also the ideology of dominance that the have s has set on the have not s . The most general way of
understanding economic structure within a literary work is to apply the Marxist Literary Theory.
Marxism is based on the philosophy of Karl Marx, which follows the idea that life within an
economic system is the struggle between social classes. The literary criticism is based on the belief
that historical social and economic conditions determine literary works. Marxist literary theory

To further explain, the Party entrenches the ideology to remain unquestioned by those capable of
recognizing oppression. According to the Party s slogan, who controls the present controls the
past (Orwell 37). Based on Marxist Literary belief, historical conditions determine human thought,
as mind is a product of it historical influences. The Party dominates their people because history is
rewritten in their favor. As a result, they will remain in power because their people s consciences
will automatically stay devoted under the party without questioning due to insufficient evidence
to prove otherwise. In addition, the Party is also able to prevent rebellion by instilling
doublethink into their people s mind. The technique convinces the brain to believe something to
be true when it is not, for example, 2 + 2 = 5 . The party is successful in maintaining its power due
to the practice of doublethink in which the proletariats are incapable of questioning their position
in life: To a Party member it means loyal willingness to say black is white when the Party
