BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRANING OF TRAINERS (BLS TOT)
Aug. 10-12, 2022
Rationale:
The Provincial Health Office of Sorsogon under the supervision of the Heath
Emergency Management Staff Bicol (HEMB) shall conduct a BLS TOT in response to
the declining number of BLS trainers and increasing demand of the BLS training
within the province of Sorsogon. Provision of Basic Life Support Training is
mandatory to all health workers as per A.O. 155 s 2004.
The goal is to train all health workers and as many members of the community “at
least one member of each household" in CPR and BLS because timely and effective
response will ultimately save more lives.
General Objective:
Basic Life Support Training for Trainers aims to provide the competency to
instructors providing pre-hospital or initial response measures to save lives.
Specific Objective:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
• Prepare lesson plans
• Prepare and operate audio-visual aids
• Use various methods of instructional communication
• Manage a classroom learning environment
• Perform/demonstrate and explain BLS CPR rationale
• Provide competencies of the BLS course integrating the 2020 International
Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Guidelines.
• Test participants for training effectiveness according to the standards
established by the course.
Expected Output

Stakeholder’s Participation
The activity is will be attended by 40 permanent HCW from RHUs, district Hospitals
and Infirmaries.
