The Emperor s New Clothes

The Emperor s New Clothes In The Emperor s New Clothes, the Emperor asked two weavers to
weave him a cloth of extreme beauty and wealth something that said, I am Emperor. What the
Emperor did not know was that these weavers were impostors who in the end made him look very
idiotic with his extraordinary dress of absolutely nothing! However, he did not choose to see that
what he was wearing was clearly nonexistent, instead he chose to believe that he was of higher
standing than anyone else in his city. Social class is linked to the way people dress every day. This is
exemplified in Hans Christian Andersen s short story, The Emperor s New Clothes. How is ... Show

One might even notice that this whole clothing epidemic is going on right in front of their own
eyes. Girls these days especially are prone to being sucked in by the way they dress. They believe
that how they dress affects their popularity status. I myself have gone through this being a young
girl at one point! I wonder where they could have gotten this idea from? Oh, that is right, this idea
has been going on since the ancient times! In conclusion, the way people dress is indeed important.
It has been important from the beginning of the ancient times until today. As much as we would
like to believe that Hans Christian Andersen s interpretation of dress is not what is important, there
is absolutely no way that this is possible for us. We are shallow as a whole. Much like the Emperor
was in The Emperor s New Clothes. Works Cited

My Father Essay
Our world is filled with so many different types of people. As life goes on, people come and go
just like you pass cars on the highway. Some grow old while others die young. I have met so
many incredible and unbelievable people over the years. However, there is one person who stood
out to me above others, my father. He was someone like no other person could be. My father
helped me through everything. It is very heart breaking to say I no longer can go to him for
anything, but I know he is watching me from above. I would do anything to be able to talk to him
again. My father impacted my life tremendously like no other person has before. In the beginning,
my father was a man who worked his whole entire life, even up to a week before he passed away.
He was very determined, smart, and indescribable. He was someone who would take his own life
for someone else and helped everyone he met. All of the memories I have made with my father is
significant to me. I have cherished each and every one, whether it was good or bad. Losing
someone is hard and your life completely changes. Strengthening my faith in God has helped me
the most through this tough time. No one said life was going to be easy, but the bumps in life
lead you to become a stronger person. Since my father has passed away, he has made me change the
way I look at life. Never take anything for granted and always try your very best. If you set your
mind to something, you will become successful. When I was a few weeks old,
Noah s Ark Vs. The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The story of Noah s Ark in the first part of the Bible, Genesis 6 9, is probably the best known story
of the great flood, versus The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the parallels between the two is strikingly
similar but still notably different. The similarities mostly stem from Christians interpretations of the
Hebrew bible by relaying on stories from The Epic of Gilgameshto find God s hidden messages. The
Epic of Gilgamesh has broadly the same structure and plot as Noahs Ark, suggesting the Biblical
account largely borrowed from its neighbor, the Babylonians, stories found recorded on clay tablets.
It is important to recall the connections between the Epic and the Biblical version and contrast to
properly celebrate the impact these two stories... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Epic of Gilgamesh, it is Utanapishtim as the chosen survivor because he follows the god
Ea, and Noah is chosen in the Hebrew bible because he worshiped God. Utanapishtim and Noah
build an ark under the guidance of their seer to bring all species of animal and any food.
Utanapishtim was allowed to bring whatever silver, gold, all of his family and kin onto the ship
while Noah was only allowed to bring his immediate family and son s wives. Noah had order
from God to bring specifically two of each kind of creatures and even the creepy crawlers onto the
boat. Unlike like Noah, who built the boat alone, Utanapishtim had a helping hand in building the
ark from skilled craftsmen, whom he showered in bullocks, sheep, and provided multiple
beverages. Noah s boat was three hundred cubits, the ark s length; fifty cubits, its width; thirty
cubits, its height. (pg.., Genesis 6 9) This created a rectangle shape in contrast of Utanapishtim s
square boat space of ten dozen cubit, the height of each of her sides, ten dozen cubits square, her
outer dimensions. (The Epic of Gilgamesh,..) However, both characters were ordered to build a
door, at least one window, and pitch the outside coating. In both stories, the downpour of the heavy
rain flooded the land of living things and mountain, but in the biblical version the flood lasted forty
days and forty nights while The Epic of Gilgamesh was six days and seven

I Am A Friend, A Photographer And When I Was A Child
My father is a photographer and when I was a child I was his worst model, even my little brother
at four could pose better than me. Whenever my dad tried to get me pose I would stomp my feet
and scream how much I detested getting my picture taken, or I would runaway and hide. Their
are very few photo s of me that weren t stage or was taken quickly before I could oppose. Even
today, if you tried to take of picture of me you will most likely see me put my hands over my face
hoping you didn t get a good shot. So, if you look on my Tumblr or Twitter you will very few
pictures of me, but tons of pictures of my family or my favorite bands. But, I truly believe it is
when I m behind that cameraand I hear that click and see that bright flash, I find myself at peace. I
love photographybecause it has given me a safe outlet for my thoughts and feelings.
I never thought about photography it always seemed like something I couldn t do. My father and
sister both were photoghers and that was the main reason I didn t want to take photos, because I
feared I wouldn t live up to what they could create. But, the first time I didn t care about
expectations or what people might think was the first time I really wanted to take pictures. It
began in the 6th grade, I got my first camera, it was baby blue and not very professional, but I
loved it. Even though it was a short love affair, I took some photo s that I still treasure today (which
include a sunset and orange blossoms).

The Revolution Of The American Revolution
In regards to the American Revolution, the point that armed rebellion became inevitable arrived
when after nearly five constant years of American colonist protesting. American s had enough and
needed to take a stand for the numerous inequalities they were forced to deal with. It was foreseeable
that the American Revolutiontook place due to the unfair taxes that the British were giving
Americans. Also, England was not allowing Americans their freedom, along with violence and the
political dominance by the Parliament over the colonies by announcing the Stamp Act in 1765,
which happened to nearly affect all Americans tremendously.
With that being said America felt that they cleared all their obligations when their colonial taxes
were paid and they did not want to accept the fact that they were still being forced to pay taxes
imposed by a Parliament wherein they were not embodied. Furthermore, the point of no return would
have been the Boston Tea Party when this was a time when the state of affairs between the British
and colonists became an outright uproar of irreconcilable chaos and disorder. Initially the Tea
Party served as a means for a bail out for the East India Tea Company and British gains off tea
products. Meanwhile, Americans were livid with the laws of the British and sought their rebellion.
In which Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty embarked on British ships and took matters into
their own hand by the discarding of massive amounts of tea goods. This act forced

This fable was a great way to promote the importance of a team and its functions. This book had
many highlights throughout the context and I would highly recommend it to leaders of a
corporation or of that of a team like setting. This book offered many great implications of the model
and how to use it in many diverse settings when trying to build and manage successful teams.
The Implications for the Practice and the Future of Counseling: The Five Dysfunctions of a Team
School counseling programs are designed to serve the school as a whole. They serve the students as
counselors, act as consultants to teachers, parents and administrators and coordinate activities to
implement the developmental guidance program. However, in order to have an effective program
they need to instill the qualities of Lencioni s model into their interaction with the individuals they
serve. The first item is to build trust among students, parents and school staff, so that they feel
comfortable coming to the counselors to address their issues or concerns. While confidentiality
could be a challenge working with minors, it should be kept as much as possible. They also need to
feel that when they meet with the school counselors that he or she has the individual s best interest
in mind. Once a rapport has been built, the counselors will be able to confront or address conflict

order to work in a salon and be considered a professional Cosmetologist, students must pass their

The hands on portion consists of performing a facial, manicure, thermal curling, State Board haircut,
permanent wave, color retouch, foil highlighting, relaxer retouch, and chemical virgin relaxer.
Infection control procedures must be performed as well as the correct tasks. Instructors will read the
directions to the students and give them a certain amount of time for the setup, procedure and clean
up. The instructors are required to then tell you when there are 10 and five minutes remaining. If
taking the facial, manicure and test portion first, students will have a 15 minute set up to get their
facial and manicure supplies ready. During the facial, students have five minutes to cleanse the face
and then are further directed to the next steps by the instructor. The manicure is 20 minutes long and
has to result in a smooth finished polish with nothing on the skin. If students start the thermal
curling portion first, they will be asked to perform a smooth, complete curl when the instructor asks
them to do so. The State Board haircut needs to be blended with only one inch taken off within the
time span of 30 minutes. For the chemical wave portion of the exam, the students must follow the

students must drape the client s towel cape towel to protect the skin from harmful chemicals. The

Unrealistic Elements Of Disney Movies
You can t marry a man you just met! (00:26:38 00:26:40). The quote from the movie Frozen
highlights how unrealistic Disney movies are, by showing the idea of true love at first sight. Movies
such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, where Snow White hides from her evil step mother to
stay alive, contains many unrealistic elements. Although many may say that Disney films are just for
entertainment, these movies are viewed by all age groups, and can influence what they think about
the world. In the film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, along with many other movies, unrealistic
ideas are very prevalent. Disney films are inaccurate in that, they depict characters and settings
unrealistically, they use impossible and impractical events that affect the plot, and they often show
the most unreal and rare idea, loveat first sight. Disney movies contain many unrealistic ideas and
events that contribute to the plot of the story. A very unrealistic idea that is shown in multiple
Disney movies is the complete changing of a person. This exact event happens in movies like
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs where the queen completely morphs her body into an old
witch (00:50:45 00:51:21), or in Beauty and the Beast where the prince is turned into the Beast
(00:01:26 00:2:28). These are even more unrealistic because they are caused by witches, curses,
and potions, which are not real. Disney movies also depict nature in a very unrealistic way. This is
shown very clearly in films such as
William Merritt Chase In The Studio Analysis
During the 1870s a new category of art formed known as the Aesthetic Movement, which was based
upon not what world was around the art, but the art itself (Pohl 284). This movement originated in
England and spread throughout the Americas opposing the current views about art during the time
the it arose, which was the ideology that art must always serve some sort of clandestine purpose.
Artists who supported the Aesthetic Movement also denied any moral values that people gave to art.
The painting that I chose that best fits the ideals of aestheticism is In the Studio, 1880 by William
Merritt Chase. During the 19th century industrialization rapidly began to change American culture
bringing on consumerism and capitalism, which focused on the... Show more content on

Artists such as Robert Henri and George Bellows (to name a few of the many) formed the Aschan
School in attempt to present the shadows of urban life normally ignored by the Academy. The
artwork that emerged from this movement flashed a light upon the changes made by mass media,
shifting gender roles, immigration, and the public displays of wealth (primarily in New York).
Artwork from the Aschan School exhibited the many dark sides and light sides to the constantly
moving urban cities of the Americas establishing a sense of disconnect between the densely
populated city, and the idea that these individuals live a life where they are mostly strangers to one
another. One primary example of the Aschan School movement was the painting by John Sloan
titled Hairdressers Window. This painting was a scene in which a hairdresser is bleaching the hair
of one of her clients. In the scene many small, unimportant details are included just as vividly as the
humans in the painting, such as the gloves worn by the hairdresser, or the colored flower on the
woman s hat to the right in the painting. Through these many insignificant details Sloan depicts the
exact form of realism in urban life during the 20th century. The scene in which he recreated was the
The Is The Most Important Quality
When the gods wish to take vengeance on a man for his crimes they usually grant him considerable
success and a period of impunity, so that when his fortune is reversed he will feel it all the more
bitterly. Julius Caesar. Everyone wishes to be fortunate, and that word has many differing and
contradicting meanings, each suited to one or two particular people with that set of goals in their
lives. Therefore it is no surprise that humanity has a natural tendency to be ambitious, and to strive to
great heights. While this is a beneficial trait, society as a collective whole has brainwashed humanity
to believe that ambition is the most important quality an individual can possess. This has caused a
conundrum in many great people; that even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the witches may have been lying, and most definitely did not have Macbeth and Banquo
s best interests in mind, the two friends believed the prophecy, and their belief was strengthened
when Macbeth becomes Thane of Cawdor at the request of the King Duncan. While the title was
certainly prestigious it didn t satiate Macbeth s aspirations to be great, especially now that the
idea that he would be King was planted in his mind. In order to achieve his goals he would forego
basic humanity and morality, betraying the trust of the King, the honor of his comrades, and the
sanctity of friendship. Ambition to be greater than what was destined is what killed Macbeth, not
some concept of the wrong kind of ambition. The want or drive to be great is not inherently good
nor evil, simply a desire, and Macbeth s natural yearning to be great was spurred into overdrive
with the idea that he could actually achieve it. However what happens to many great men is that
once they stumble upon or actually accomplish their goals, they are not satisfied and must have
more. This is their downfall, their inability to be happy with what they have achieved, their
ambition to have or be more that what they feasibly can have or be, this is what causes the greatest
of men to fall. According to an article on Forbes.com by Steve Forbes and John Prevas, Left
unchecked, ambition can cross the line, mutating into arrogance and avarice, two of the most

Munich and the Role of Nationalism in Sports
Munich and the Role of Nationalism in Sports Sports figures have always been a glorified group
within traditional societies. From cultures around the world, sports stars are honored and praised
much more so than other members of the societal group. As a result, sports has become just as
much of a mythological part of a nation s culture as it is a practical source of entertainment. Thus, a
nation s sports teams and power can have an impact on the society s sense of nationalism. This is
exactly what is seen in the movie Munich, where Israel feels the need to violently avenge the murder
of many of its sports superheroes. The film clearly shows how sports teams and events can help
bolster a strong sense of nationalism, especially within the context of international competitions.
This same sentiment remains the same today, although the degree to which it affects nationalism
may have been dulled down over the years. The film was a shocking revelation of secret events after
a major international incident. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the 2005 film is a historical rendition
of actual events that occurred in the early 1970s. Black September terrorists had attacked and killed
many Israeli athletes in the 1972 summer Olympics. The group was mainly Palestinian descent, thus
fueling the tension between Israel and Palestine and impacting the overall feeling of nationalism
within the Israeli state. In response, the Israeli government secretly approved assassins to hunt down
members
How Grandparents Are Assuming the Role as Caregivers
In the absence of biological parents, grandparents may assume the role as the caregivers of their
grandchildren. The absence of a biological parent may be due to incarceration, drug abuse, mental
illness or military deployment (Yancura, 2013). Each of which disallow acceptable care from the
biological parent which sometimes places the burden to care for the child on the grandparent. This
absence is commonly known as custodial grand parenting (Population Reference Bureau, 2011). In
these circumstances the grandparent often takes the grandchild into care to avoid them going into
foster care. While this may be necessary for the children s safety, permanency, and well being,
this may also contribute to serious problems affecting the grandparent s own well being.
According to Yancura, the risk of physical, intellectual, or emotional stress becomes greater the
longer a grandparent cares for their grandchild. It may be severely overwhelming for grandparents
to meet the essential needs for a child s well being when already at a point in life when their own
health problems are at a rise (Barusch, 2013). Balancing care for oneself and for the grandchild
becomes stressful. Barusch (2013) explains, often grandparents must sacrifice their own well being
and instead nurture the grandchild. However, among the difficulties, grandparents still may feel an
obligation to care for their grandchildren. Census (2010) reports a growing number of grandchildren
in the United States are living
