Welcome to the H2H tutorial!
In this guide, I will teach you step-by-step how to
become a master in H2H (Head-to-Head) mode.
FIRST PART - Tactics
Although we're not in manager mode, we can still play tactically with good skills.
Here are the main tactics H2H players use:
Possession Play
Counter Attack
Slow Buildup (Playmaker)
Inside Forward (Wingers vs. All Defense)
Cross Spam
SECOND PART - Player Impact
Every player has their unique gameplay attributes, with some excelling in stun
moves, dribbling, or other skills. We'll discuss this in three sections: Attack,
Midfield, and Defense.
Attacking
For effective attacking, consider these attributes:
- Stun
- Finishing
- Free Kick Style

Everyone in the top 10 list is very useful. For more information, refer to the top
10 list in the DC server.
THIRD PART - Formation Rating
We rate formations from S to C:
S Tier: The best formations
A Tier: Very great formations
B Tier: Decent formations
C Tier: One of the worst formations
S Tier: 4-2-3-1 Narrow, 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow, 4-2-2-2, 4-4-2 Holding, 4-3-3 Holding
A Tier: 4-1-2-1-2 Wide, 4-2-4 Formation (very dangerous at times), 5-2-1-2, 4-4-2
Flat
B Tier: 4-3-3 Attack, 3-4-3 Flat, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 Wide, 4-3-3 False 9
C Tier: The rest that wasn't mentioned above.
(BIG NOTE:IT IS BASED ON THE MOST PLAYER IN FC 1,BUT IF YOU THINK THERE'S BETTER
FORMATION THEN IT IS YOUR OPTION.)
FOURTH PART - Skill Moves
There are at least five skill moves commonly used in H2H:
TOP 1: Heel to Heel
TOP 2: Open Up Fake Shot
TOP 3: Step Exit Over
TOP 4: Lane Change
TOP 5: Rainbow
Details on when and how to use these skill moves will be mentioned in gameplay, to
know the best moments and situations for each move.
(NOTE:IT IS JUST A SUGGESTION,IF YOU GOT YOUR OPTION THEN ITS YOURS)
FIFTH PART - Gameplay Settings
You can choose between two gameplay modes: Fast and Slow. It depends on your
playing style. Here's a breakdown of settings for each mode:
Fast Player Settings
Virtual Stick Size: ON (depends on your gameplay)
Floating Virtual Stick: OFF (depends on your gameplay)
Button Size: ON (depends on your gameplay)
Advanced Passing: ON
Tap/Double-Tap Gesture Passes: OFF
Fast Power Up Rate: ON
Crossing Assistance: ON
Player Auto-Switch: ON
Player Auto-Switch Mode: OFF
Contextual Dribble: ON
Slow Player Settings
Virtual Stick Size: OFF (depends on your gameplay)
Floating Virtual Stick: ON (depends on your gameplay)
Button Size: ON (depends on your gameplay)
Advanced Passing: ON
Tap/Double-Tap Gesture Passes: OFF
Fast Power Up Rate: OFF
Crossing Assistance: ON
Player Auto-Switch: ON
Player Auto-Switch Mode: OFF
Contextual Dribble: ON
Most H2H players prefer a fast gameplay style, but I prefer a slower one. It
depends on the style you want to try.
SIXTH PART - Skill points
For all position skill points,we will start from attacking to defending.
ST - 3 Dex + Counter (if u have orange rank, use extra one on shooting)
LW/RW - 3 Dex + Raumdeuter (if u have orange rank, use extra one on passing)
CF - 3 shooting + sniper (if u have orange rank, use extra one on physical)
Midfield
CAM - 3 passing + playmaker(if u have orange rank use extra one on dribbing)/3
dribbing + 1 enganche(if u have orange rank use extra one on passing) | depends on
your gameplay
CM - 3 defending + ball-winning midfielder(if u have extra one use on physical)
CDM -3 defending + anchor(if u have extra one use on physical)
Defending
LB/RB - 3 defending + non-sense fullback (if u have orange use extra one on
passing) | special note:if u want buy lwb/rwb,make sure they have defending skill
point and do the same.
CB - 3 defending + non-sense centerback(if u have orange rank use extra one on
physical)
GK - 3 Diving + shot stopper(if you have orange rank use extra one on GK passing)
(NOTE:this is just for suggestion, the most FC 1 player with this skill point to
work.)
SEVENTH - Gameplay
We are going to start with how possession works.
For the most-used formations in FC Mobile 24, the 4-2-3-1 narrow and 4-3-3 holding
are likely the most effective for top players.
We will explain how the tactics work. It's simple and easy to understand.
- The Tactics
Possession Play
Possession play relies heavily on wingers and fullbacks. They will dribble down the
sides, control the ball, and pass to the striker once they find a good opportunity
to cut inside. It's similar to using an inverted winger, but different because the
main finisher is the striker.
How do they control it?
Some players play a bit defensively, controlling the ball until the match is about
to end. This gives them a 0% chance of losing and more advantage in attack.
I don’t suggest this tactic because you must have a lot of experience to manage the
pressure from opponents. But once mastered, it makes you almost unstoppable.
(Note: This tactic is often seen as "ratty" or annoying. For example, Soham10, one
of the best players of all time with 1.55M cups in ISC history, is rated as one of
the most annoying players due to using this tactic and cross spam back in FIFA
Mobile.)
Counter Attack
This is the most popular tactic that almost every FC 1 player knows how to use.
It's simple but challenging.
This tactic works best with 2 or 3 strikers (especially in a 4-2-3-1 narrow
formation) due to the extreme pace and the difficulty defenders have in stopping
them.
It's simple: pass to the attacker before the opponent's midfield recovers, and use
a skill move immediately once the opponent’s two center-backs leave a small gap.
Even a tiny space can lead to a goal.
However, this tactic also requires a lot of luck. You might face defenders who
can’t be stunned, or your attackers might struggle to perform under pressure.
(Note: Research suggests there’s a factor in H2H matches that determines whether
your players will perform well.)
If you master this tactic with top players like R9, Cruyff, Isak, or Ginola, who
have incredible stun in H2H, it gives you a higher chance to score and win.
(Other important note: Ensure your players are very, very good. Check the top 10 ST
or LW list on the Discord player review site. The selected players have insane stun
abilities in-game to ensure you can perform well.)
Slow Build-Up (Playmaker)
This tactic is very similar to possession play, but it offers more attacking
options.
The key position in this tactic is the midfielder, who will control the team's
possession and pass to whichever player has a good opportunity (a risk).
However, they may also dribble with the wingers at times.
This tactic provides more attacking opportunities than possession play, but if not
mastered, it can lead to trouble against counter-attacking players.
Still, it offers a lower chance for opponents to score and gives a better advantage
in scoring, though it’s not the best tactic.
Inside Forward
This is the second most popular tactic and can be used with a counter-attack.
However, it depends entirely on the winger. If you have a great winger like Mbappe,
Leao, or Nico, then it requires less skill.
The tactic works like this: during a counter-attack, if you don't rely on your
striker due to slow pace or lack of stun, or if he isn't the best option for a
counter-attack, pass to the winger. As you approach the box, you’ll likely face 2-4
defenders—one fullback, one center-back, and possibly others from the opponent's
midfield.
It's simple: time the skill move well (don’t rush too often, as it can lead to
worse situations), and it’s usually an easy goal.
Cross Spam
I won’t explain much here because this tactic relies on the game’s script.
But it’s simple: cross with the winger and fullback.
- The Situations
Kick-Off
I always pass to my fullback first and activate the trigger run to my RW(or they
are running themselves). Once he passes the opponent's wingers or gets close to the
fullback, pass to him and use lane change. Most of the time, this creates space.
Explaining the Formation
There are various ways to attack. I’ll explain two formations that are used the
most.
4-1-2-1-2 Narrow: I have 2 strikers here, so they are my main attacking players, of
course.
However, we know the opponent has defenses to stop our attack.
I need a player who can create space for my strikers to use skill moves.
So, I have KDB and Olaru as my main playmakers.
When dealing with an opponent's attack, I pass to my midfielder first and trigger a
run with my striker. Once they are about to reach the offside line, I pass to the
first striker who is close to the player holding the ball.
At this moment, if your opponent isn’t using 5 at the back, there’s only one
center-back chasing the striker you triggered the run with, while the other center-
back is defending the first striker you passed to.
Then, I’ll dribble around and pass to my other striker immediately. Once he has the
ball, you can choose one of three skill moves (heel to heel, open up fake shot,
step exit over—your choice). For me, I choose step exit over.
Now, my striker can easily run to the box and score (but this depends on your
striker being very good; if you have a bad striker, this might not work).
4-2-3-1 Narrow: The best formation in the game.
We have 3 CAMs and 1 striker, but our LCAM and RCAM will play as our wingers, so
you can put your wingers in those positions.
How do I attack and defend with this formation?
We have 4 positions mainly for attack, with at least 8 players who can be involved
in the attack: the striker, CAM, CDM (if they have a high attacking work rate), and
the fullback.
If you’re a counter-attack player, I suggest putting the solo striker in the winger
position (LCAM or RCAM) because one striker alone isn’t enough.
Everyone will pass to the final player, the striker in the ST position, who will
use the effective skill move.
If you’re a possession play player, having a good fullback is essential, so it’s
better to get someone like Frimpong or Grimaldo.
(More formations will be discussed soon.)
3. Skill Moves
(1) Lane Change
How to time lane changes well? There are many situations when we are on the attack,
and lane change is the best skill move to use.
When we pass to our attacker (ST, LW, RW) and their opponent is behind them, ready
to defend, you must use a driven pass when you see your player has space—not a big
space, but enough to pass into. (In the video) Use it, and you will get free space
easily and take a shot.
Or, if we are in the buildup phase, use it when your opponent is about to close in
on you. It’s a good move, but it can be tricky.
(2) Open Up Fake Shot
This is one of the skill moves that gives players a huge advantage in scoring.
How to use it at the right time? In the same situation as above, if you have a
defender at your back and they are very close, you can use it and aim at the
opposite side from where they are running.
(3) Heel to Heel
It’s simple. When there’s only one defender around you, and they’re a little bit
close, use it. You can run very fast and stun them at the same time, making the gap
bigger.
(4) Step Exit Over
Probably the most overpowered skill move, it can boost your pace to the maximum in
under 0.1 seconds.
It’s similar to heel to heel, but with one more advantage.
Heel to heel isn’t always usable because it requires a lot of space. But step exit
over allows you to use it in small spaces and run towards the box without anyone
defending.
(More skill moves will be discussed soon.)
- How to Finish Like a Pro
First, make sure all your attackers can finish the ball (even midfielders).
This gives you more options in different situations, but no worries, we’ll explain
how 4WF and 3WF players can handle it.
I use the button to finish the ball. There are two ways I can finish where the
goalkeeper can’t save it (unless it’s VDS, who is annoying).
When you’re about to finish, without using finesse, roll the joystick to the
opposite direction you are running in. Make sure you’re rolling towards the
direction you’re aiming at. (For example, if I want to finish with the left top
corner, roll up first and then to the opposite.)
For finesse, just aim at the corner you’re targeting and use 70% power.
But what if I have a weak foot issue? Luckily, we have the swipe feature.
If you want to do the same thing, swipe at the bottom with a straight line to
perform a bottom corner finish.
For finesse, make a small 1/4 circle, and you’re done. (Video)
(Note: If you swipe too fast, the ball will fly away.)
- How to Pass Like a Pro
All FC players always use driven passes because they give a faster ball and make
the attacking tempo much quicker.
A pass with 20% power is enough. If you give too much power, it makes it harder for
the receiving player to control, allowing the opponent to intercept it.
However, if you’re passing to your striker, use as much power as possible—about 60-
70% should be enough.
- How to Defend Like a Pro
We know there are various ways to attack. So how do we deal with them? Well, it’s
easy.
Always step back with your defense and make sure the entire line is straight so
that the opponent can’t find any gaps.
And don’t use the rush button too often; it gives your opponent a better chance to
attack (buildup issue).
You must also ensure that your defender is very good because if you choose a
defender who is easily stunned, all the effort you put into learning to defend will
be wasted.
- How to Dribble Like a Pro
Dribbling takes experience, so you need to spend a lot of time playing the game.
But I can tell you how I do it.
I can predict my opponent’s next move with insane experience. When I dribble, I
only control the joystick—don’t rush. Just keep dribbling and predict what your
opponent will do next.
- How Do I Defend
I always control the midfielder instead of the defender because defending with a
defender makes them more likely to be out of position.
Controlling the midfielder gives you more players to defend and makes the space
smaller for the opponent to find a chance.
Double defending is also very important.
When you see your player is out of position (for example, your LB is still on the
opponent’s side), control the CB and double defend with the LB. This allows the LB
to track back much easier since he is controlled to tackle the ball.
(Note: There’s more to learn, but all I can tell you is that it comes down to
experience. So, you must play as much as possible to gain that experience because I
can’t explain every possible situation.)
- Building Up the Team
You must have a good team with all players at level 25. This makes the entire team
faster and better, which is the basic requirement in FC 2/1.
Make sure to check the Discord player review. We always have staff in the team
discussion who can advise which players are best for dealing with various
situations.

EIGHTTH - the end
all i want to tell is,i spent a long time on this tutorial like every night. i am a
no lifer who play almost 8 hours everyday in summer vacation,so i am grinding this
game as hard as i can because i have nothing to do
the reason i made this is also telling myself how to play, cause even me who are
1.35M cup in this game lose over 100 games a season, which mean i am not the best.
if you are seeing this tutorial,i am very happy that you saw this. cause it is the
road that i have discovered for you guys, spent over one and half a year in this
game.
if you want to be skillful, all i can you is experience, and the downfall.
the first time i reached FC 1,i took over 1000 games to reach this level. when
there's so many hackers and p2w player using their very great player to humble your
cheap beast team, that script is always unreal.
but i never give up,i took a very long time journey to here. i am sure that i have
played over 8K matches in fc mobile 24.
i still remember last season, when i had a chance to get logo. it is just so close
that i am 100% getting it,but i failed. because i want the best logo in fifa mobile
which is top 250,i was almost there. but i dropped 200K cups in the end.
so,if you want be better. the downfall is unavoidably, this tutorial is just helping
you getting out of it faster.
if you want go higher, more and more trouble is there, script, hacker. those two thing
can drop your mental health to the deepest.
so make the right choice,if you want be the best,or the level of FC 1. you must get
ready for it,get the experience and master the way you want.
i am always in the server to help you guys,if you cant understand the tutorial we
always have people to help.
