Teacher’s Activity Learner’s Activity

A. Presenting the new lesson
Real life example of solid figure

Wha are this example of object? A solid figure

Ver good, A solid/space figure.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

A solid figure

C. Presenting examples/instance of the new

lesson
What we call this? A net or faces

Do you have any idea on how to derive the

formula in finding the surface area for the cube,
prism, and cylinder?

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new

skills #1
Zoe is making a valentine gift for her mother. The
box she using is a cube with 5 inches length on
each side. Find how many square inches of paper
she needs to wrap the entire box?

To get the surface area oof a cube.

Solve for the surface area using the formula:
S.A. = 6a2

A= edge

Now, let us solve the surface area of the box of

Zoe.
5 inches the side of the cube
What are the given?
S.A = 6 X (5) 2
What will be the solution? = 6X25
= 150 in2

Therefore, Zoe needs 150 in2 of to wrap the entire

box for her mother.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new
