Assignment Description – Presentation 1


Considering the assigned case study, work within your group on a five-minute presentation that
addresses the following points.
Present in June 24th during class.
Keep in mind the following resource: The-circular-bioeconomy-A-business-opportunity-
contributing-to-a-sustainable-world.pdf (Updated to course environment). You should also
complement the presentation with your thoughts and additional research.
1) Describe the case study:
a) Who are the main stakeholders?
b) What is the main biotechnological product? Is there a non-biotechnological alternative?
c) What is the business case that justifies the shift towards a biotechnology-based
alternative?
d) Which sustainability criteria is used to assess the performance of the business case?

2) Think (and research) about the main technological development trends and risks (e.g.,
climatic, political, etc.) that may affect the industry to which the product of your case study
contributes? How can these risks affect the supply and demand of the product(s) from your
business case?
