Create a new style in Libre Office Writer
AIM: Understand about styles available in libre office writer and create a New Style

Solution : Type the following content in Libre Office Writer and apply different styles to it .
Libre Office Writer supports the following types of styles: -

1. Page Styles – it includes margins, headers and footers, borders and backgrounds.

2. Paragraph Styles – it controls all aspects of paragraph’s appearance, such as text alignment, tab
stops, line spacing and borders, and can include character formatting.

3. Character Styles – it affects selected text within a paragraph, such as font and size of text, or bold and
italic fonts.

4. Frame Styles – are used to format graphic and text frames, including wrapping type, borders,
background and columns.

5. List – It can be used to style lists by putting numbering or bullets of a different kind or specify
numeric format.

6. Table - Table Style category allows to format a table by adding borders, using different text or border
colour(s), aligning text inside the table, having different patterns or text colour
1. In the document, select the item you want to save as style.

2. In the styles window, Click on the New Style from Selection Window.

3. After Clicking on New Style from Selection, Create Style dialog box appears.

4. Write the name of the new style ‘your name'’and Click OK

Insert Image & its features
AIM: To inert image an image in LibreOffice Writer and apply its features.
Solution:
Step 1: Go to Insert>Image
• Choose an image file (e.g., [Link])
• Click Open – the image appears in the document
Step 2: Resize the Image
• Click on the image
• Drag the corner handles inward to reduce size while maintaining the aspect ratio
Step 3: Apply Frame Style
• Right-click on the image >Properties Go to Borders tab:
• Choose Line Style: Solid
• Line Width: 0.75 pt
• Choose any color (e.g., Green)
Step 4: Wrap Text Around Image
• Click the image
• In the sidebar or right-click >Wrap
• Choose Optimal Page Wrap
• Type the paragraph
Step 5: Save the File

Insert drawing object in Libre Office Writer and apply group and ungroup.
AIM: Apply group and ungroup on different objects.
Solution
To Group
1. Open writer document
2. Select view Toolbars Drwing.
3. Select and draw one shape at a time.
4. Select one shape, hold shift key and select second shape and then the third shape.
5. Click on format Group Group

To ungroup
1. Click on format Group Ungroup

Create template in LibreOffice Writer
AIM: Prepare a document and save it as a template.
Solution:

1. Create a new document in Libre Office Writer.


2. Click on Format > Page Style option.
3. A page style dialog box will appear.

4. Select Area > Color .


5. Apply desired options for background and click on OK button.
6. Insert table for time table and format it as per your choice.

Saving file as template

1. Click on File > Templates > Save as Template option.


2. A Save As Template dialog box will appear.
3. “Time Table ” as Template Name in Enter Template Name dialog box.
4. Select Template Category as My Template.
5. Click on Save button.

Create and Customize Table of Contents
AIM: Prepare a document with different headings and apply a table of contents to it.
Solution
1. Type the contents.
2. Apply appropriate level of headings from the Styles window.
3. Place the cursor at the beginning of document to insert Table of Content.
4. Click on Insert → Table of contents and index → Table of contents, index or Bibliography
option.
The Table of contents, index or Bibliography will appear.

5. Select and apply the styles for the Table of Contents.


6. In background tab click on Colour button.
7. Pick the desired colour to apply as background
8. Click on OK.

Consolidate data in Libre Office Calc
AIM: To demonstrate consolidation of data.
Solution
1. Open a new file in LibreOfficeCalc and write the following data.

2. Open another file in LibreOfficeCalc and write the following data.

3. Open third sheet and click on Data > Consolidate. The following dialog box will appear.

4. In drop down list of function label select required function. Here we selected sum

5. Click to select Data Source Range of first sheet and then click on add button to add this range
under consolidation ranges.
6. Repeat step five to add another sheet. Remember to check target range in copy results to.

7. Under options click on “Row label”, “Column label” and “link to data source option”.

8. After clicking on the OK button we will get the consolidated data as shown below.

Apply Subtotal in Libre Office Calc
AIM: To apply subtotal in Libre Office Calc.

Solution:

1. Open spreadsheet software and enter the data.


2. Select the data.
3. Click on Data → Subtotal. The Subtotal dialog box appears.
4. Select column Class in Group By option.
5. Now mark the column Hindi/Eng/Maths/Science to calculate average Marks of each subject.
6. Select the Average function from Use Function option for each subject separately.
7. Click on OK button.

Create Scenario in Libre Office Calc.
AIM: To create different scenario on given sheet
Sample Data:

Solution:

1. Enter data and prepare the spreadsheet along with formula.


2. Select the data and click on Tools >Sceneriooption. The Scenerio dialog box will appear.
3. Enter the name for the new scenario.
4. In settings uncheck copyback and choose desired color.

5. Click on OK.
6. Repeat step 2 to 5 for different scenario.

Apply Goal Seek in Libre Office Calc
AIM: To apply goal seek and achieve desired result
Sample Data:

Solution:

1. Enter data and prepare the spreadsheet along with formula.


2. Click on Tools > Goal Seek option. The Goal Seek dialog box will appear.
3. Move the cursor in Target Value box and enter the value – 75.
4. Now select the cell B6 as a variable cell.
5. Click on OK.
6. It will display the value obtained by Goal seek. If you wish to insert it in the spreadsheet click
on Yes, otherwise No.

Create a hyperlink in Libre Office Calc
AIM: Demonstrate the steps to create hyperlink for website.
Solution:
1. Open spreadsheet document.

2. Click on the cell where you want to create hyperlink.

3. Select Insert Hyperlink from the menu bar.

4. In the hyperlink dialog box enter the following.

URL:[Link] Text : Cbse website

5. Click on apply.
