NEROLAC PERMA NODAMP
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Nerolac Perma Nodamp is a high strength fiber reinforced liquid applied
elastomeric waterproof coating. Upon curing it forms thick, seamless durable
membrane thus offering ultimate waterproofing to exterior walls and roof.
Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “KNPL or the Company”)
offers a ten-year warranty on Nerolac Perma Nodamp (Product) from the date of
purchase if applied as mentioned in the product data sheet. Along with
waterproofing warranty Nerolac Perma Nodamp comes with 100C surface
temperature reduction and 7 bar hydrostatic pressure resistance.
WARRANTY CRITERIA:
1. For retail minimum 80 Liters of Nerolac Perma Nodamp should have been
purchased and consumed on a single building.
2. For Projects minimum 200 Liters of Nerolac Perma Nodamp should have
been purchased and consumed on a single site.
3. Entire terrace along with parapet needs to be enveloped for horizontal
surfaces.
4. For vertical surfaces Nerolac Perma Nodamp should be applied along with
KNPL luxury and premium range exterior topcoat.
5. Warranty needs to be registered within 15 days of Nerolac Perma Nodamp
purchase.
EXTENT OF WARRANTY:
• When the total volume of the said system purchase exceeds 80 Liters for
retail and 200 Liters for project.
• The Warranty is applicable subject to satisfactory pre-inspection of the
surface to be painted by the Company's representative.
• Only the surface immediately underneath the terrace (or the top floor of the
building) and the interior walls corresponding to exterior facing surface as
the case may be, shall be covered under this warranty. The warranty shall
not cover the cases of water seepage from surfaces NOT covered with
Nerolac Perma Nodamp.

• Under normal use and service, the roof or vertical walls of building which is
not coated by Nerolac Perma Nodamp should be free of water leakage or
seepage.
• The Company will only provide replacement paint for re-application of
coating, as may be necessary to set right the Paint Failure in the affected
portion only in accordance with Liability as indicated in the ‘Liability’ section.
• Throughout this warranty the word “paint failure’ shall mean any of the
following occurring, subject to the other conditions laid down under this
warranty:
• Film integrity, flaking and peeling of the paint Nerolac Perma Nodamp
caused by one coat of paint coming off from another or the paint film coming
off the substrate.
• The paint film shows blistering, splits, tears, cracks or shows evidence of
excessive weathering due to defective material.
• External water ingress through terraces, parapet walls and vertical exterior
walls.
• Growth of fungus and algae on wall surfaces* (at least spread over a
minimum area of 2 sq.mt).
• The warranty on waterproofing & anti-algal/anti-fungal performance is for a
period of Ten (10) years only from the date of purchase.
• KNPL does not give any warranty against dirt pick up of Nerolac Perma
Nodamp on horizontal area
Commencement and Duration:
1. This Warranty shall be effective from the date of purchase of the product as
per tax invoice ("Warranty start date"), provided that the painting work is
fully completed, and the consumer register the product for warranty within
fifteen (15) days of the purchase.
2. Proof of product purchase i.e. tax invoice, must be provided when requesting
warranty.
3. If there is a break or recess period in the painting work on the same building,
determining the warranty start date shall be at the discretion of the KNPL
team.
4. The Company at its own discretion may appoint a person to inspect and
validate the application of the Nerolac Perma Nodamp as per the directions
specified.
5. The Company may seek reimbursement of any costs incurred by us where
the Product (Nerolac Perma Nodamp) is found to be in good condition, or
when it has been determined that the Warranty do not apply as per terms
and conditions of warranty

6. The Warranty shall be for a period of ten (10) years for waterproofing and
anti-algal performance from the Commencement Date.
7. Where any claim arises during the warranty period, the period will not start
afresh after settlement of the claim.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
PLASTERING:
• New masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is
recommended to allow 28 days as the curing time for the masonry surfaces.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
• Prepare the surface by cleaning it with a high-pressure water jet/wire brush
and ensure that it is free from dust, oil, grease and loose particles. Check the
substrate for its soundness and damaged portions.
• All hollow areas must be repaired with a polymer modified cement-sand
mortar.
• Cracks up to 10 mm should be filled with Nerolac Perma Crack Filler, Cracks
more than 10 mm to be filled with Nerolac Perma Waterproof Polymer
modified mortar
APPLICATION ON TERRACE/HORIZONTAL SURFACE:
• Before extending the warranty, the terrace and roof needs to be inspected by
an authorized person from KNPL team. Based on the inspection, certain
waterproofing checks may need to be done on the terrace/ roof.
• The parapet walls or any other projections on the terrace need to be
enveloped completely by the Nerolac Perma Nodamp system. The edges
formed by the terrace/ roof with the parapet walls need to be coated by
Nerolac Perma Nodamp as specified below. Based on the inspection, KNPL
team may also specify any other parts of the structure which need specific
protection by application of its products.
• Nerolac Perma Nodamp is applied at coverage rate specified in the Product
Information Sheet on terraces i.e. 1 Sq.mt/L.
• Cracks up to 10 mm should be filled with Nerolac Perma Crack Filler, Cracks
more than 10 mm to be filled with Nerolac Perma Waterproof Polymer
modified mortar.

• Terrace has been thoroughly prepared in terms of repair work and cleaning
to remove grease, dust, loose particles and other elements Suitable slope is
provided to the roof to avoid water ponding.
• Loose plaster, structural cracks are repaired as per standard construction
practices.
• Apply a self-priming coat of Nerolac Perma Nodamp mixed with water at
30% dilution at the coverage of 4-5 Sq.mt/L.
• Allow it to dry for at least 3 - 4 hours. Apply first coat of Nerolac Perma
Nodamp without any dilution at the coverage of 2 Sq.mt/L.
• Allow it to dry for at least 3 - 4 hours. Apply second coat of Nerolac Perma
Nodamp perpendicular to first coat without any dilution at the coverage of 2
Sq.mt/L.
• Ensure that the product is applied on the entire roof including the parapet
wall in a way that it covers entire parapet wall till the other side where roof is
connected to the exterior wall.
APPLICATION ON WALLS:
• Nerolac Perma Nodamp is applied at coverage rate specified in the Product
Information Sheet on terraces i.e. 2.5 Sq.mt/L.
• Cracks up to 10 mm should be filled with Nerolac Perma Crack Filler, Cracks
more than 10 mm to be filled with Nerolac Perma Waterproof Polymer
modified mortar.
• Walls has been thoroughly prepared in terms of repair work and cleaning to
remove grease, dust, loose particles and other elements.
• Loose plaster, structural cracks are repaired as per standard construction

LIABILITIES:
• The company’s liability will reduce over the warranty period according to
following scale based on when the Nerolac Perma Nodamp failure
happens,

WATERPROOFING AND DURABILITY WARRANTY:
One year 100% of replacement cost
Two years 90% of replacement cost
Three years 80% of replacement cost
Four years 70% of replacement cost
Five years 60% of replacement cost
Six years 50% of replacement cost
Seven years 40% of replacement cost
Eight years 30% of replacement cost
Nine years 20% of replacement cost
Ten years 10% of replacement cost
• The company will be liable for the replacement cost of the products which
required to correct/repair affected area.
• The customer will be liable for the all the balance costs including labor, which
are not company's obligations, as indicated above.
• The Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or
damages to the customer. The Customer's exclusive and sole remedy under
this Warranty shall be as mentioned herein this clause
DISPUTE RESOLUTION:
• If any dispute arises between the Company and the Customer, in respect of
the above Warranty, neither of them shall commence any court or arbitration
proceedings relating to the dispute, unless they have first complied through
mediation
• In case of any disputes, the same is subject to exclusive Jurisdiction of the
courts of Mumbai.
• The facts and all matters concerning any dispute will be always kept
confidential by both the Customer and the Company at all the time.

CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY:
• Nerolac Perma Nodamp must have been applied as per Company
instructions and product data sheet at the time of purchase and good
working practice.
• Warranty will be applicable only for seepage from the surfaces where if
Nerolac Perma Nodamp is applied.
• The product must have been stored as specified in their packaging
instructions and have been used within their shelf life.
• Nerolac Perma Nodamp should not be used in combination with product
from any other manufacturer.
EXCLUSIONS:
a) The warranty will be void in any the following events:
• Intermittent dripping of water due to proximity of vegetation or air-
conditioning units or any other sources of water leakage like plant pots.
• Water penetration due to capillary rise from the ground level, including water
leakage, seeping and continuous dampness of the surface.
• Growth of algae or fungus on surfaces other than masonry walls.
• Inadequate housekeeping of terrace or roof resulting into water logging.
• Defects in the design of the building or roofing system, including inadequate
drainage system, settlement or movement.
• Water seepage through ducts or other areas where Nerolac Perma
Nodamp System is not applied due to inaccessibility of that area.
• Exposure of Nerolac Perma Nodamp to damaging substances such as
chemicals, solvents or oils.
• Building or structural expansion or additions or reductions, shifting,
distortion, failure or cracking of building components.
• Puncturing of cured membrane due to sharp objects, movements of heavy
articles, fixing of antenna or other structures on the terrace.
• Removal, excavation or replacement of concrete or other materials about the
testing, repair, removal or replacement of the product.
• Leaks or damages resulting from any additional installations on or through
the product or flashing after the initial installation that is not consistent with
Nerolac Perma Nodamp.
• Any extension of building/civil or structural modification post product
application will make the warranty void.

• Warranty will be void in case of mechanical damage/puncturing of the paint
film (whether on horizontal or vertical) including but not limited to sharp
objects, plantation near the building, misuse of terrace for any form of
cooking, playing etc.
• Water seepage from or through the drainpipes carrying water from the upper
parts of the building to the ground. These could include leakage/seepage
through external or internal drainpipes on the structure.
• The warranty will not be valid in case of failure of the underlying plaster or
putty coat or texture paint which in turn causes a failure of the Nerolac
Perma Nodamp.
• The warranty would be void in case of water leakages arising out of uncoated
surfaces/structures that are directly connected to the structure where
Nerolac Perma Nodamp.
b) The warranty will cover only the manufacturing defects of Nerolac
Perma Nodamp and will not cover any defects arising out of factors out of
control of the company, including but not limited to the following:
• Product failures due to structural defects, moss and other vegetative growth,
excessive bird droppings/spitting, damage of paint due to ants and insects,
water leakage and seepage within the building structure and continuous
dampness of the surface, staining due to plant pots.
• Natural calamities such as earthquakes, cyclones.
• Failure or defects in the structure or previous coating
• Vandalism
• Acts of God
• Abuse or negligence by the Customer
• Causes other than defects in the Nerolac Perma Nodamp
• Improper surface preparation
• Surfaces with contaminants and not dry
• Normal wear and tear
• Any act or omission on the part of the contractor/painter causing the
Nerolac Perma Nodamp is defective by any means.
• Weak/ de-bonded plaster surface, structural defects in the building
• Broken water sprout, old water pipelines etc.

CLAIMS AND BENEFITS:
Any claim made in terms of this warranty shall be made within 30 days of the
consumer discovering any defect, damage or failure which gives rise to a claim.
a. The customer must log on to his/her account on the Portal/App and intimate
the company of the claim providing full details thereof and shall set out the basis
on which it believes that the company is liable in terms of the warranty.
b. The company reserves the right to carry out inspections of Nerolac Perma
Nodamp application process, in which the Nerolac Perma Nodamp is alleged
to have failed and to perform any tests in respect thereof and may do so either
itself or by means of any person nominated by it. Prior to such inspection or
testing, the consumer shall not be entitled to perform any repairs to or remove
or tamper with any part of the Nerolac Perma Nodamp. The consumer must
provide the certificate issued at the time of registration as proof of sanction of
warranty and provide the details as such required.
c. The company shall use its best endeavors to ensure that the product required
for repairs is available as soon as possible at the place where the repairs are to
be carried out but does not assume liability for delay in this respect.
d. The company, in its sole discretion shall be entitled to:
i. Control/monitor the re-application which is to be carried out in accordance
with all its specifications and instructions; and
ii. Appoint a contractor and/or approve the contractor appointed by the
customer.
