IB MYP Mathematics (Years 4 & 5) - Teacher's Guide

Overview

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Mathematics aims to help students develop logical, analytical, and

problem-solving abilities through a balanced curriculum. In Years 4 and 5, students can follow either the

Standard or Extended pathway.

Aims of the Course

- Develop confidence in mathematical reasoning.

- Apply mathematics to real-world and interdisciplinary contexts.

- Use mathematical language and representations.

- Recognize patterns and use mathematical models.

- Reflect and evaluate mathematical approaches.
