11. A teacher took a train from Nairobi to Mombasa. The train left Nairobi on Monday at 2350
hours and travelled for 7hours 15min to reach Mombasa. After a 50 minute stop in Mutitu
Andei, the train took 5 hours 40min to reach Mombasa. Find the time in the 12hour clock
system and the day the teacher arrived in Mombasa. (2 marks.)

19. Four points A, B, C and D lie on the same plane. The distance from A to B is 750 km on a
bearing of 050 0. C is 500km on a bearing of 3400 from B while D is on a bearing of 2500 ,a
distance of 625km from C.

20. A maize transporting company requires to transport 74 tonnes of maize to town A and B.
The company pays Sh12 000 to transport 24 tonnes of maize for every 14km. John
transported 48 tonnes to town A 24.5km away.
a) Find how much he was paid (3 marks)
b) John spent ksh.1500 to transport every 4tonnes of maize to town A Calculate his total
profit (4 marks)
c) James transported the remaining maize to town B 42km away. If he made 22% profit,
find his transport cost (3 marks)
