Record Instructions

The document outlines the experiments and activities that students at Paavai Vidhyashram Senior Secondary School should conduct for their records, including tasks such as determining resistivity, measuring resistance, and observing light phenomena. It also provides general instructions for organizing the record, specifying the format for writing, and the materials to be used. Students are instructed to use blue ballpoint or gel pens and ensure their record books are covered.

PAAVAI VIDHYASHRAM SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

(Affiliated to CBSE)
Dear students you should write the record in the following order:
EXPERIMENTS:
1. To determine resistivity of two / three wires by plotting a graph for potential difference
versus current
2. To find resistance of a given wire / standard resistor using metre bridge.
3. To verify the laws of combination (series) of resistances using a metre bridge
4. To find the frequency of AC mains with a sonometer
5. To find the focal length of a convex lens by plotting graphs between u and v
6. To determine angle of minimum deviation for a given prism by plotting a graph
between angle of incidence and angle of deviation.
7. To determine refractive index of a glass slab using a travelling microscope.
8. To draw the I-V characteristic curve for a p-n junction diode in forward and reverse
bias.

ACTIVITIES:
1. To measure resistance, voltage (AC/DC), current (AC) and check continuity of a given
circuit using multimeter.
2. To assemble a household circuit comprising three bulbs, three (on/off) switches, a
fuse and a power source.
3, To assemble the components of a given electrical circuit.
4. To identify a diode, an LED, a resistor and a capacitor from a mixed collection of such
items.
5. To observe refraction and lateral deviation of a beam of light incident obliquely on a
glass slab.
6. To observe diffraction of light due to a thin slit

General instructions for Record:

1.Aim,Apparatus ,Principal,Formulae,procedure,Results,precautions,Source of error

should be done on right side (Ruled page)
2.Tabular column(pencil),Diagrams and Model graph(pencil) and calculations(using pen)
should be done on left side (unruled page)
3.All images &graphic illustarations should be done on left side of the record with pencil
4.Records must be written in a blue ball point or gel pen .Ink pen are not allowed.
5,The record book should be covered.
