Imagine waking up every morning feeling afraid to go to school. Not because of exams—but
because you fear the people around you. Their words hurt. Their stares burn. Their silence is
louder than screams.
Good morning Everyone
Today, I want to speak about something we may see every day, but sometimes pretend not to
notice — something that hurts deeply, even when it’s hidden behind smiles. That something is
bullying. What Is Bullying? Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group
by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. According
to the American Psychological Association, "Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which
someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. Bullying can
be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or online.
The second is types of Bullying. It comes in many forms:
Physical bullying : hitting, pushing, or threatening.
Verbal bullying : mocking, name-calling, or insults.
Social and cyberbullying : spreading rumors, exclusion, or online harassment.
And often, the most dangerous wounds are the invisible ones. As Dr. Sameer Hinduja, a
cyberbullying expert, says:"Technology is amplifying the violence. What was once confined to
the schoolyard now follows victims everywhere."
Then ,why bullying can happen?
Bullying can happen due to various factors, including past experiences of violence, feelings of
wanting to control or dominate, lack of empathy, and a social environment that supports this
behavior. Dr. Barbara Coloroso, an educator and bullying prevention expert, reminds us: "The
bully, the bullied, and the bystander—all are affected. But all can be helped."
The Impact of Bullying
Bullying can leave long-lasting emotional scars. Victims may suffer from anxiety, depression,
low self-esteem, or even suicidal thoughts. The National Center Against Bullying reports that :
"Bullying can result in trauma that lasts a lifetime, affecting mental health and the ability to
trust others."
What can do to overcome it?
We can make a difference: Speak up when we see bullying, support the victim, a kind word can
mean the world. Educate ourselves and others. And be kind, [Link] Nelson Mandela once
said, "No one is born hating another person... People must learn to hate, and if they can learn
to hate, they can be taught to love."
