SAFMC 2025 CATEGORY B ADVISORY NOTE


Venue: Singapore Expo Hall 2 (486150)
DATE: 13th – 14th March 2025

1. Introduction
This advisory note serves as additional information for teams to take note of. Kindly be informed that this
advisory should be read on top of the details and regulations stated within the Challenge Booklet.

2. Administrative notes:
 All timings given are confirmed and changes are not allowed.
 Breakfast and lunch will NOT be provided for the teams. Food should be consumed outside of the
competition area. Please also bring jackets as the venue may be cold.
 Participants are welcome to bring light snacks and their own water bottles for refills. However, they are
expected to clean up any rubbish before leaving.
 As there will be no Wi-Fi available, ensure that all presentation files are downloaded onto your laptop
beforehand. Kindly ensure you bring all the necessary presentation materials (charts, display boards,
laptops, etc.). Note that laptops and VGA/MAC to HDMI converters will not be provided, so please bring
your own converters. Additionally, please bring your plane/drone to showcase your design to the panel.
 Please arrange buffer time for transport pickup at the end of the competition.
 Participants are to bring along all their belongings throughout the competition. The organizers are not
responsible for any loss or damage of any personal belongings.
 The Organizers will not be responsible for any damages of planes and/or props for each Category
Challenges.
 The Award Ceremony will be on 5th April 2025, Saturday at Singapore University of Technology and Design.
 The Organizers will contact the winners latest by:
- Category A, B: 19th March 2025, Wednesday
- Category C1, C2, C3: 1st April 2025, Monday
- Category D1, D2 & E: 26th March 2025, Wednesday

4. Format of Competition and Challenge Layout


Presentation @ Assigned Judging Room

Refer to Map 1 above:

- After registration at Hall 2, the teams will proceed to the assigned judging rooms.
- Teams will be called and ushered to presentation rooms according to their assigned timing.
- Teachers/ Parents may proceed to wait for the Team(s) in Hall 2. You are NOT ALLOWED to view/follow
to the presentation rooms.
- Please bring along the necessary presentation materials. There will not be any laptops and VGA
converters provided at the venue. You are also required to bring along your Gliders to show the panel of
judges.
- Kindly ensure you bring all the necessary presentation materials (charts, display boards, laptops, etc.).
Note that laptops and VGA/MAC to HDMI converters will not be provided, so please bring your own
converters. Additionally, please bring your plane/drone to showcase your design to the panel. As there
will be no Wi-Fi available, ensure that all presentation files are downloaded onto your laptop
beforehand.
- Each team is given 10 mins (5 mins presentation, 5 mins Q&A).

Challenge @ Hall 2

Refer to Map 2 above:

 After the completion of the presentation, the teams will proceed to Hall 2 – the Registration/Inspection to
prepare for their next segment.
 An inspector shall check the flying machine for any violation of the category rules. Teams who do not
comply with category rules will be disqualified.
 Team Managers/Teachers/Parents will proceed to Hall 2 through the Entrance/Exit. They may view the
team attempting the Challenge segment in the Spectator Area.

Teams are not required to bring their launcher as there will be a designated launcher in the playfield.

Challenge Sequence

o 1st Round: To be completed in two minutes.

o 2nd Round (Bonus Scores): To be completed in two minutes.

Once the team have completed the challenges,

- They must sign off their Completed Challenge Score Sheet.

Teams may leave Science Centre after completing their Challenge attempts.
