Aftha: Hi everyone, and welcome to our exclusive vodcast where you get to hear firsthand

experiences from some of our bravest exchange participants who have taken part in Global
Volunteering in different countries. I’m Aftha, and I’ll be your host for the session.

With me are four amazing individuals who’ve stepped out of their comfort zones and into
classrooms, communities, and cultures across the world.

Let’s welcome:
Mahendri – who visited India for Project Global Classroom
Kavya – who visited India for Project Heartbeat
Jeramine – who visited Egypt for Global Classroom
And Nilan – who visited to Vietnam, also for Global Classroom

Questions

What inspired you to volunteer in the first place, and why did you choose your specific project
and country?

Let’s talk about the first few days. What was your first impression when you landed in your host
country?

Tell us about your project. What kind of work did you do? What were the kids or community like?
And what impact do you think you made?

What was your biggest challenge during the exchange, and how did you overcome it?

Did you experience any cultural traditions or local events that really moved you or changed your
perspective?

How have you changed as a person because of this experience? What have you learned about
yourself?

Let’s spice things up with a quick round:

● Best food you ate?

● Favorite word in the local language?

● Cutest moment with the kids?

● Most random thing that happened?

● One word to describe your exchange?

Before we wrap up, what would you like to say to someone who’s thinking of volunteering but is
hesitant to take the first step?
