Good day!
I am Heidrich S. Aballe, and I want to express my interest in the position of School Nurse in your esteemed school.
University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue is one of the best schools in Cebu that offers quality education and
service to students, and as an alumni of the institution, I have experienced that very service. I would like to join your
generous community as a school nurse, providing high standard care that encompasses both technical skills and
health education. The students deserve to not only be attended to based on their health concerns, but also deeply
cared for attentively and thoroughly, in a way that makes them feel seen. I believe I can become a great addition to
the clinic as I possess effective communication skills and an empathetic nature that will make the students
comfortable, and leadership skills that can contribute to the overall efficiency of the clinical team. Last month, I was
invited to become a speaker for a HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Awareness seminar, and in that time, I was
approached by multiple students that expressed their personal concerns, and it made me want to help them further
than just a quick conversation after the seminar. I would like to expound after that experience and further research on
such concerns from the students by interacting and interviewing them further on the ground.
In the past three years of my experience as a professional nurse, I have met countless young adults that expressed
their interest on wanting to become more aware and knowledged on various health concerns, and that motivated me
to conduct more and more health education seminars, not only to young adults, but to those groups with a wider age
demographic as well. Those experiences made me realize that a majority of the citizens in our community lacked
proper health education and some were not even aware that they were already experiencing that particular
infection/disease. So, I gravitated towards this position as school nurse because I believe that spreading awareness
starts at the main setting of education, the school.
