As Asst. Vice President (Procurement), involved in procurement of engineering
items for projects. Procurement value is to the tune of Rs. 100 crores per annum.
Worked on various projects of Reliance group, details as follows:
Presently handling $6 Billion Jamnagar Expansion Project (J-3)
$5 Billion Prestigious Jamnagar Export Refinery Project,
$4 Billion East West Pipe Line Project.

$20 Million DBC project for Reliance Infocomm

Market Analysis to understand the global supply and demand trends of Steel
industry.
Devise strategy for procurement after due analysis of the market.
Development of new vendors (overseas as well as local) for the project as well as
revenue requirements. Currently for the forthcoming projects, focus is on
developing China & South Korea as the sourcing base along with existing
European as well as Far East vendors.
Disposal of surplus material generated during earlier projects. It involved
finding customers, understanding the needs, submit the quotes and arrange for
the customer visit to the site for material inspection. Finalized deal worth Rs. 3
crores for plates and gaskets.
Handled procurement of variety of materials like Static Equipments, Structural
Steel, Plates, Rebars, Roof Sheets, Shuttering material, Ducting items, Rubber
and Foam ropes, Pipes, Pipe Fittings, Cement, Paints, Fabricated items, Pumps,
Valves, Gaskets etc. Also handled painting and service contracts for real estate
projects.
Worked as a team leader for designing internal MIS to provide timely reports to
the internal customers and stake holders. System was VB based capturing the
data regarding pending material to be ordered, pending deliveries, pending
acceptances and other such issues.
Worked in Minor projects cell as a project Engineer. Handled Recrystalliser
project in Paraxylene plant. As project Engineer, was overall responsible for the
execution of the project, in coordination with technical services, procurement
and other departments.

As Maintenance Engineer in Pure Terpthalic Acid (PTA) and Paraxylene plant,
was responsible for maintenance of plant machinery and equipments.
Prepared preventive maintenance schedule for the plant equipments to ensure
maximum availability.
Handled breakdown maintenance of pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, vessel
rotary seals, exchangers, filters, centrifuges etc.
Timely handover of the equipments to the operations during turn around.
Achievements/ Critical Incident Handled
o Import Procurement of 33 tons urgent material for Refinery project in
record time of 6 weeks against normal delivery of 16 weeks. Entire process
cycle of overseas vendor selection, technical evaluation, order placement,
expediting, Material inspection, release and shipment was done within time
span of 6 weeks..
o Redesigning of mechanical seal plan for slurry pump, resulting in
reduction of failure of mechanical seal.
