Method Statement & Execution Plan for Split Air Conditioner Installation

1. Preparation
 Ensure all required materials and tools are available (copper tubing, insulation,
wrapping tape, 2.5 sqmm 4-core cable, 6 mm fasteners, outdoor stand, base pad, etc.).
 Confirm availability of tools, materials, and safety PPE.
 Coordinate with the customer to finalize locations for Indoor Unit (IDU), Outdoor Unit
(ODU), drainage points, and power connections and any scaffolding requirements

2. Indoor Unit Installation

Technician 1:

 Mark the mounting plate at the approved location, ensuring horizontal and vertical
alignment
 Drill holes and install suitable 6mm fisher
 Prepare wall opening for refrigerant pipes, drain pipe, and wiring with proper slope.
 Connect electrical wiring as per the manufacturer’s wiring diagram.

Technician 2:

 Assist in lifting and mounting the indoor unit on the plate.

 Connect and insulate refrigerant piping (flare connection).
 Connect and fix the drain pipe with a continuous downward slope, ensuring no kinks.

3. Outdoor Unit Installation

Technician 1:

 Prepare the concrete base/stand and place vibration isolators or rubber pads.
 Secure the outdoor unit with anchor bolts.
 Ensure proper clearance and leveling for airflow and maintenance.

Technician 2:

 Position and align the outdoor unit on the prepared stand.

 Connect refrigerant piping from indoor to outdoor unit.
 Connect earthing cable properly.

4. Refrigerant Piping & Connection

Technician 1:

 Route copper pipes neatly with minimum bends and apply insulation.
 Assist in holding and supporting pipes during brazing.
Technician 2:

 Perform accurate flaring and brazing connections.

 Conduct pressure testing of the piping system for leaks.
 Carry out system vacuuming if the piping length exceeds 7 meters.

5. Charging & Commissioning

Technician 1:

 Check and verify supply voltage and current readings.

 Observe cooling performance, noise, vibration, and drainage during test run.

Technician 2:

 Open service valves and release refrigerant into the system.

 Check for refrigerant leakage using soap solution or electronic leak detector.
 Assist in test running and adjustments as required.

6. Final Handover
 Both technicians clean the work area and remove debris.
 Provide a demonstration of system operation to the client.
 Obtain customer acknowledgment via signature and capture a photo of the installed
unit.

⚠️Safety Precautions
 Always wear PPE (gloves, goggles, safety shoes).
 Use correct lifting techniques or lifting equipment when handling the outdoor unit.
 Ensure power supply is isolated before electrical work.
 Handle refrigerant cylinders with care and follow manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
