Gauss's law, a fundamental principle of electrodynamics formulated by Carl Friedrich Gauss,
states that the total electric flux through any closed surface, called a Gaussian surface, is
directly proportional to the net electric charge enclosed within that
surface. Mathematically, this is expressed as E×dA = Q_enclosed/ ¼, where E is the electric
field, dA is the differential area vector, Q_enclosed is the enclosed charge, and ¼ is the
permittivity of free space. This law is one of the four Maxwell's equations and is particularly
useful for calculating electric fields in situations with high symmetry.

The Lorentz force on a current-carrying conductor in a magnetic field is the net force acting
on the moving charge carriers within the conductor. It is expressed as the vector cross
